I’ll continue, you put the sleeve up to not cut yourself. I know I wouldn’t want a rod cutting up my face, would you? Also, if I’m beating someone in self defense with a stick and it breaks I don’t think it would stop me from hitting with the stick. You showed in a previous video it can keep being used even if it can cut you up but I’d say that means you just have to hold it right and inflict bleed damage. I won’t buy one and I won’t advocate for people to but its like a broom handle from Walmart to me. It prolly won’t last as a weapon but it’s still a weapon that you can use until it’s unusable.
I think if anyone still has doubts or thinks you’re lying/biased, they should simply purchase one of these and test it or enjoy it to the extent they please. You’ve cast off any shadows of logical doubt. Put it to rest.
@@MarcusVanceI feel like Im witnessing the birth of a Batman villain. Did one of your loved ones get murdered in cold blood by a collapsible self defense staff Marcus?
Not "the staff community" just random dumbasses claiming to be the "staff community" I'm sure anyone actually in the staff community would agree that those expanding staffs are bullshit
Nah, you are confusing your crazies. These people are the ones that get those decorative weapons that are meant to be non-function and take pictures with them like they are uber badass.
I think my school banned these things before I graduated. But this was also the same school that suspended me for two days for drawing a grenade in art class. The principal said it was destruction of school property. No joke. I drew it on a piece of notebook paper
@@meady50 tbh at this point a freshly sharpened pencil is better..... for taking notes of corse j7st don't bring an mre spoon now thats dangerous lmao
@@heffaynekoguy687 oh yeah those mre spoons have several confirmed kills now, why or how this happened in a war with guns there is no good explanation. Thank Russian incompetence I guess.
I do have to say, though, you probably aren't really a gun person and more of a gamer, since often video games use the Glock 17 for simplicity and recognition, sort of as a relic of older shooters made only a bit after the Glock's creation, but more realistically there's now over 50 varieties of Glock, the original G17 being not the most concealable. From what I've seen on their website, their most concealable is the G39 9x19mm line, about the length and width of a medium smartphone. I digress, just wanted to rant a bit about something I've recently looked into.
@@idioticed4379 dammit i keep writing you an article in the notifications pop-up and then i accidentally delete it all! im gonna have to seriously oversimplify and condense now, so sorry...if you don't know what the word means: concealable basically means easy to hide. If you're wondering what makes a gun concealable: depends on the size of the person, where it's being hidden, and the environment, but it basically comes down to size of the gun. The smaller, the more concealable and some good examples are the Glock 39 line, the hidden gun from the first four Assassin's Creed games, and snub-nose revolvers. This is not a conclusive list and there are probably hundreds of varieties from manufacturers and homemade projects. Hope this helps!
@Hispanic Fascist if you wanna turn self-defense into an assault charge, I guess go ahead. But I meant the "fill the container" bit. It's a pressurized, sealed cannister. How do you propose filling it?
@@MarcusVance No I mean like, their comments are not serious and they want to see you keep using the rink dink piece of plastic. I think I would say "Trolls", ykno, like the ones under the bridge? I know you killed him many moons ago, just there's his kin to keep in mind
@@bombomos Pay attention to the "Weaponization of the Government Committee" right now if you aren't already. As interesting as this subject is there's something important happening RIGHT. NOW
It is great for self defense though. Not only does it give considerable amount of range advantage but it also makes it easier for your attacker to beat your ass, thus ending the confrontation quickly. It can also double as a cane should you lose your vision upon hitting the ground.
Well.... not regular arms... they have... FIRE ARMS!!!! *hears whispering* Wait... what do you mean one word? Firearms, one word... ohhhhh... damn. Fire arms sounded kinda cool...
@@aaronharper1209 It's not, the way it breaks is unnatural which means its not meant to break in 4 hits. Also a self defense tool that breaks in four hits. Really?
When i was growing up, i remember my sister having a toy made out of the same stuff lol. she was always so happy for ten minutes when we left dollar tree, then cried when it broke
If you haven't convinced them by now, they'll never believe it. It's like trying to reason with the kid who uses a "rocket launcher" in rock, paper, scissors.
Or a knife lol. No way a staff that breaks like that could do any better than almost any knife which are much easier to obtain than a gun. Obviously a gun would be better but if you’re against them or whatever then knives are always on the table
@@Q2eFzzM. Or delude yourself into thinking that your country is safe, sure it won't stop you getting mugged but up until that point you can _feel_ safe I guess.
No these are cheap knockoffs of the Membari fighting pikes from Babylon 5. You need to buy the ones made by an advanced sci-fi civilization not from some primitive backwater dirt ball that is just barely getting off it's own planet.
Pocket staffs are fantastic self defense tools... They make great threat displays or distractions away from the hand pulling your actual self defense tool.
I got one of these awhile ago and while trying to close it it opened it to my face and busted my lip open so it’s a great at causing damage just not at the intended target
So you pull out one of these, so your would be breaks out in laughter at how idiotic you are, then you pull out the old Colt revolver, and empty it righteously.
@@viper32509 same. The thing cut me several times just trying to get it all closed up again lol. I figured I'd just keep it looser and try to slice with the edges
Don’t worry man, if your staff gets floppy after only 2 swings, it’s completely normal. My staff gets floppy at the end after only one swing, if it’s hard enough. My doctor recommended something called “viagra” but it was a pill so it did nothing
That "pocket staff" was a magician's wand in a previous life. More people want to be John Wick than David Copperfield, so they pivoted in their marketing.
Millwall brick is a classic, would love to see him talk about that. Basically, in the early 80's, when football hooliganism was huge in the UK; chavs would get searched for knives and stuff going into ball games, however newspapers were perfectly fair game. The thing is, when you roll a newspaper up and then fold it in half, you can actually crack someone's skull VERY effectively with it, taping it up and adding rocks or wetting it makes it even more dangerous.
bought one of these just for fun but ended up using it as a walking stick because i had some severe pain in one of my feet as a kid when walking. It worked really well. even went hiking with it so it was more useful than just for sidewalks. I imagine it worked so well because i was pressing on it vertically, unlike how it would be used for self defense. It broke when i accidentally stepped on it at an angle one time. I kept it as I do with most things. It'll still expand and retract, but the metal is severely cracked and a little deformed in one spot, so it's not really useful anymore. Don't need it anymore anyways, my foot doesn't hurt like it used to.
Somebody tell Marcus he’s keeping the lights on at the pocket staff factory, the factory who is making the bot account to argue with Marcus about how he’s wrong 😂
I bought one of these a long time ago, not for self defense but because I thought it would be fun to pop open and swing around. It was fun to pop open the first time, but I cut my finger really deep trying to make it small again and never really bothered trying again. They are fun to swing around though.
It won't work for self defense as it's a magic trick prop, that's why it breaks easy. Really cool how you made like a slightly more sturdy version that might work :)
no its actually an amazing self defence weapon, the burglars will see it and start uncontrollably laughing, which gives you enough time to kick the groin
I think the best way to use one of these weapons is like an unloaded firearm, just use the threat of the weapon to allow yourself to escape, distract, or stall for help.
@@cutiefruitytootiepie4093 Sure, but as soon as the staff loses its structural integrity then the attacker will simply move past the weapon. Plus most people that are planning on hurting you are probably wearing clothes that cover a large amount of skin. Also, when it breaks apart it becomes hard to control so it may be risky to attempt a hit as you don't have the control to hit uncovered flesh accurately, and swinging it wildly has a chance to swing the weapon into yourself.
I've been on the fence about getting one these for a while now. I know full well that they SUCK when used as a tool of any kind but god damn do they look cool 😭
Just take a short thick stick with you, I do. It’s easily concealed and you can transition between normal punches and stabbing motions easily and concentrate a lot of force on a hard and very small point.
@@toasties3404oh, and canons, and rapid fire rifles because believe it or not they had those back then too. They were just expensive. The founding fathers understood how firearms were going to advance, and an ar15 is less powerful than most average hunting rifles. The entire political argument is ridiculously unfounded in fact and wholly a terror campaign for the stupid.
So here's how you use these effectively. Step 1: Expand the staff... Step 2: Throw it at your attacker. Step 3: Discombobulate. Step 4: while they're distracted pull an actual self defense item! Edit: I know some people will think I'm being serious... It's a joke.
I think the people defending the pocket staffs are just trying to troll you/want more of these shorts because they are funny. No one with a brain would defend these by this point.
Its meant for magic show, not self defense.. it used to have red handkerchief, you grab it hiding the staff, and expand it. As the staff expands, handkerchief goes insided of it… i got no idea why these are sold as “self defense tool” these days
That could only works as a bluff. Someone sees a person with a staff, they will think twice about messing with them. If you need to use it, just toss it at the attacker and run away :)
who? most people will see a person with a staff and assume they are some idiot weeb who thinks they know martial arts despite clearly not.... you know... knowing martial arts. No criminal will run from a person with a staff tbh.
@@JohnnieKirkegaard94 I disagree. A person can do great bodily harm with a simple stick. Fear is a great deterrent, as you can see in analyses of robbers - they prey upon weak looking peole
@@pedroclaro7822 oh i never said you cant! Im saying that in our modern world most people who would carry a staff of any kind are people who think its cool and doesnt really know how to use it. A study from 2017 found that people who watch anime but has no skills with typical martial arts weapons would arm themselves for self defense with staves, nunchucks, batons and quite a few other options on almost 50% higher rate than any other person. this means that the first thought when you see someone with a staff is not "uh he/she might be dangerous" but rather "oh this is a easy moron target". This is also backed by multiple of the now turned lawful ex cons who talk about their time as criminals. They would usually laugh at a person armed with some wierd self defense weapon simply because it usually was a sign of poor self defense skill. The chance of them actually being any kind of threat with such a weapon in modern day western world is near 0. Where as a blade in anyones hands is a real danger or a gun. Most of them also do voice the fact that in general being armed isnt a deterrant for most criminals. Sure you will stop the odd oppotunistic criminal who is just trying to steal to survive but you generally wont stop the real criminals because they are better armed and will often gain more from taking you down and stealing your weapon than they would from stealing your wallet. I believe the fraise used was something like "a gun that you can take off a target is just a golden incentive". But back to the less common weapons like staves and sticks and such. Most criminals will never get close enough to you to allow you to use it. They will point their weapons at you and tell you to hand shit over. and pulling out any weapon in that situation just invites them to strike while you are getting your weapon out. Unless you walk around with it on you. Most robberies initiate in about 2-3 seconds and only for the last 1-2 seconds will the target be aware it at all. If we are talking about kidnapping or sexual assault then sure any weapon is better than no weapon but the chance of you getting to use it is close to 0. Its not like you see it in the movies where criminals walk up slowly allowing you to get ready. Usually its pop out knock the person our or pop out and put a weapon at their back. Self defense is only usefull against the shittiest criminals and that is surely better than not being useful against any criminals! but dont kid yourself.
@@JohnnieKirkegaard94 don’t have to worry about guns here in Portugal, nor in most of Europe. But yeah you do have a point about attacks being sudden. Ig one should deploy the staff preemptively. I walk around with my flashlight on hand whenever I feel uneasy, so it wouldn’t be much different - except the staff would look weird I’d like to see that study about anime watchers please! Also I haven’t seen any of that about excons talking about people looking ridiculous with makeshift weapons. I saw sexual perpetrators explain their reasoning behind a potential victim and it was mainly about their demeanor, and I presumed any sort of weapon would work as a deterrent somewhat. Where did you see thst also? Thanks in advance!
@@pedroclaro7822 I will try to the find a link for you if you can wait a bit i tried to find it through keywords because idont remember the name i will try to find it in my history when i have the time so expect either a new comment or an update here. If you google ex con on self defense you will find loads who talk about it. Mostly american though. Im danish myself so we also dont have any need for this sort of stuff. I do agree that SPECIFICALLY sexual predators its all about finding a target that you can have full control over. But any other kind of crime there simply isnt a need for it. You talk about having weapon out whenever you feel unsafe..... Heres the thing most actual assaults doesnt happen when you feel unsafe. If a person seems on guard (which you usually are when you feel unsafe) then you often wont be targeted. So unless you have some sort of divine sense... you simply wont know when someone will corner you on the street. If you have ever seen how pickpocketing works... i can tell you most criminals function similarly. They are masters at not letting you know whats going on until its too late. Sure you might be well skilled at reading such things but then you are again not the common average person. Much more than arming yourself.... The best defense is knowing how to not get into those situations by either being aware of how those things work and by not being an easily jumped target. Really quick at the end you changed the conversation to being improvised or makeshift weapons. Thats not what i said! I said weapons like nunchucks, staves or other similarly martial arts like weapons. These weapons are MOSTLY wielded by idiots who think they are ninjas or try to seem cool. Most people who are serious about self defense and know how to deal with it usually carry things like pepper spray, knuckles, tasers, knives or pop out batons . These make up (other than guns) the vast majority of self defense weapons. the pop out baton is unfortunately one of those weapons that are wielded by both idiots and well trained people :P The 2 most effective self defense tools however are flashlights and whistles.
Listen people, If you need a self defense item to fit in your pocket, just get like, a knife or something. Surely you've heard of the whole thing about knives that fit in your pocket called pocketknives, they're very convenient and very practical.
