Thanks that helped to answer my Wonder of this Collection of Mana, that the Trials of MANA DEMO I recently played and completed isn't the same Game as in the Collection, so I know to get it individually thanks to you. ❤.
I bought final fantasy adventure in 97. When you finish it, you get a tragic love story. For gaming stories back then, I will never forget how deep it was. Especially compared to other gameboy games at the time.
Correction. There are no blurring on the character models in Trials of Mana. I don’t know if it’s after the update or the reviewer didn’t notice... But there are actually FOUR display modes. The two “window” and “fullscreen” both have blurry pixels or sharp pixels. You’ll notice it in handheld mode more.
You are getting FAR more than 20-25 hours with Trials of Mana. A complete run through will last between 35-40 hours, and considering that you have 6 main characters to choose from that each have a different story, that's well over 200 hours.
It's pairs honestly. Which they don't even explain in the remake. Charlotte/Kevin, Hawkeye/Riesz, and Duran/Angela. You still fight to get 8 Mana spirits and benevodons in the same revisited dungeons but slightly different areas, with last boss/penultimate dungeon differing based on the pair you choose (2 villains are the same based on the character so not choosing the pair by plot needs a 4th playthrough to fight all 3 boss variants). ??? Seeds were a pain to randomize classes.
There's always something that warms my heart about seeing the games as close to their original form as possible, and with Collection of Mana this definitely works! Thank you for providing a beautiful summary of this compilation.
Thanks for reviewimg this dude. All of your videos are concise and to the point, touching on both pros & cons. Really glad that you're still doing battery life segments/tests too. Whenever you get the chance, think you could review the upcoming God Eater 3?
Unfortunately, no. I just heard back from Namco Bandai and they didn’t have enough review copies to send one to me. I may be able to buy it later on down the road but that likely won’t be until late July or early August.
There wasn't any dungeons that I remember being able to get 'permanently stuck' in in Final Fantasy Legend. I'm pretty sure he's talking about dungeons in which you needed a mattock and keys to get through. There are times you can go through a key door and if you used your last key, you would seemingly be stuck; however, there is always an enemy nearby that you can farm to get keys and mattocks from. I may be wrong, but I'm fairly certain that was the case for every dungeon. I've played the game multiple times, the first couple times were a blind run and I never once got permanently stuck.
While I am very guilty of picking Charlotte because I like her a lot, saying you don't get a healer if you don't pick her is very inaccurate. Duran and Kevin can learn it too, it just depends on what class you have them go to. The benefit of picking Charlotte is that she knows the move no matter what, you just have to get the Lumina spirit. Also, there was a full fan translation of Seiken Densetsu 3 as it was known by back then. Either that or Secret of Mana 2. But because of this, some people had some problems with the official translation. Things such as Charolette's speech threw people off and there were some things that people didn't like were changed. For me though, I didn't mind the change in Charlotte's speech. I thought it was kinda fun, wrapping my brain around how to speak it while saying the lines out loud. Not just that, but I felt the official translation explained some things so much better. As a certain scenario makes a little more sense with what the official translation said. There is also a pretty known problem in Trials of Mana where despite claiming there are criticals, there are not, which can leave a move or two slightly moot, and negates raising the luck stat to the treasure chests you get. Still a pretty solid review though!
I played Secret of Mana a lot as a kid and played it again last year on mobile. Trials just looks amazing to me. It reminds me of how quickly SNES games advanced in graphics and presentation during that generation, I really wish it had come out here, it would have been such a good game to play when it was new. Even so, I look forward to enjoying it much belatedly now.
It's a common mispronunciation, but if you were interested in knowing how to properly pronounce "Mana" it is like: Mah-nuh The word "manna" is pronounced how "Mana" is pronounced in the video. Hope that helps!
@@robinmattheussen2395 thats hilarious you bring that up! It's a small but real difference. Perhaps we're starting to veer into pedantry, but Nah is more correct. まな
Do you have a plan for the Nintendo Switch Lite, as far as the battery life is concerned? I'm just kinda curious if you'll stick with the original switch for battery life, switch to the lite, or do both after the new console comes out? I look forward to your review of the console, if you make one
As of right now, I think I will probably do tests for both. Make a separate chart for battery life for the Lite since it’s supposed to be different than the og Switch. But I’ll have to see how things go and how it differs once the Lite comes out in September.
@@Reviews2Go Okay, cool. I was just curious cause I imagine that all the battery testing can take a while with some of these games, and it could get rough if you have to wait an extra day before uploading just to test the game on a second system. Good luck with mitigating all of that
Why didn't you know that Seiken Densetsu 3 had a complete fan translation? I think it is the job of a reviewer to inform himself about stuff like this.
I was aware. However, the main issue with the fan translation is that it's not complete. They had to cut dialogue out of it to fit their translation in the text space provided within the original ROM. This new one, however, has expanded space and fits the entire script, translated, without cutting stuff out from space restrictions.
@@Reviews2Go I'm sorry I miss understood you. Then you said the fan translation was incomplete I thought you meant it wasn't finished, like for example the Tomato Adventure fan translation.
