I am a guy who was a child in the 70's, teenager in the 80's and grown in the 90's and the early mid 90's were as good as any time period I saw. These guys, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Black Crowes, Soundgarden...its a shame it didn't last longer before Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Kanye, Nsync, Backstreet Boys, 98 degrees and the damn Spice girls took over. Nothing has been the same after. Thanks God for Sirius so we don't have to listen to pop radio.

The strings in this kind of rock add so much. These guys are just plain talented, not a bad song. Hard hitting drums, gnarly guitar riffs, excellent bass line.

Just watched Ed with Rick Beato & Ed got schooled on the "correct" opening sequence of his own song. Two masters with quieted egos that allowed the teacher to correct the originator. I was in my 40s when Collective Soul came onto the music scene and I paid little attention to them. Now I'm 66 in 2021 and I'm realizing these dudes were and hopefully still are a unique and great band.

This song was a huge hit for these guys. It was constantly on the radio.

If one song could show why the 90s were so unique, this would be it. This is a masterpiece and in my opinion, one of the greatest songs ever written.

I'm 21. Collective Soul is my favorite band forever, and my ultimate dream was always to see Collective Soul live. My dream is finally coming true next month! After a year and a half of supporting this band through it all, I will be front row at two shows in Atlanta. Yes, during the pandemic. I can't believe it. What a miracle! Collective Soul is more than a band for me, they are family and love to my heart.

When Collective Soul came out with this album, I looked at them as a hip, indie, alternative band. 25 years later they seem more like the Black Crowes to me.

I remember growing up listening to collective soul on my clock radio I received when I was 8 years old. I still listen today although on a different device it still sounds good.

Collective Soul is the best rock band of all time! Ed Roland's voice is the best I've ever heard - he has many different voices from high to low! (all very sultry sounding) This is a band that can do it all - awesome guitar riffs, catchy melodies, hook words that make you remember the song - plus Ed is an astounding front man that takes command of the audience! Every album that they have ever put out is like a "Greatest Hits CD"!!! Think about it - if you really listen to all their songs - almost every song is a number 1 hit!!! (about 80 plus songs are all "gold"!!!) They were really screwed by all the radio stations!!! I would love to play "Collective Soul Wars" with any band out there!!! Believe me - I know that everybody in the music business knows about the "SOUL MACHINE"!!! This band can crank out a "rock, grunge, pop, ballad or any other type of song at will"!!! I can't think of any other band or solo artist from the 50's through today that can do this!!! Is there any other people out there that agree with me? KEEP ROCKING ED - you're the best!!!!!!!

Ed Roland has a knack for writing songs with a soothing vibe.

Nothing beats the music that used to be blasting through the streets. I’ve heard of how songs like this and other rock songs were always played max on the radio with the windows rolled down. Coming from a 14 year old who loves the rock and music of the past.

Who besides me has heard this song during a road trip?? This song just fits. Blue skies,passing lines,cars and trucks. I was only 5 or 6 years old when I heard this song.

Thanks to the beef between them and their old manager we have this song forever! December is the last month of the year and is also when they ended their ties so instead of calling the song "The End" or "Finale" they wanted to put December into play. Fascinating.

I remember taking trips in our old suburban with my dad, this has ALWAYS been our favorite band. my dad and I actually went to a CS concert the week before my kid was born and I had a t-shirt that said "future collective soul fan" now that she is 6 but dad's no longer here, she LOVES CS and the connection to my dad. she just jammed to them on the way to school.
