WOMANHATTAN SERIES
Since New York City has been a vibrant hub for women artists, with many contributing to the rise of a worldwide feminist movement, we captured the portrait of Colleen Herman, a New York City based painter. Colleen’s work explores movement and containment, place and theme, wild color and grounded volumes. With a deep adoration for pigment and attention to the juxtaposition of shape and form, Colleen’s dynamic use of paint functions as a conversation between colors.
The aim of our “Womanhattan“ series is to contribute to this ongoing dialogue, elevating cultural manners and ideas about femininity and highlighting the faces and thoughts of a new creative generation, inspired by Manhattan.
