I'm 30 years old and just landed a career change to a junior software developer in a web team. I studied music at collage and looking back, it was the biggest waste of my time as any career path is in that field is super limited. Right now, with the opportunity I have been given in my current role in tech, I wish I had started developing in my teens. Also, love the channel - some really valuable content!
Thanks so much! Honestly I wouldn't look at that degree as a waste of time - there's a tonne of music based software companies. If music is still a passion of yours, you could make for an extremely compelling candidate. Serato is one that jumps to the top of my head.
Thanks for this video. I feel more determinant and hopeful to continue CS undergrads study. And kinda knows more about differences between high school study and uni life! Doing practical projects is so meaningful and I think the project can be related to many fields.
That awkward moment when you're watching this video after you just graduated.😅 The information though is still very helpful and valid despite the fact that I'm no longer studying. I spent my years in school working in IT Helpdesk roles so that I could make money reliably so I didn't spend enough time on personal projects. Did do a few hackathons though. Either way I felt like I didn't have much direction, but this video provided me with a lot! Thank you very much!
super helpful. Thanks for the video. Everything you said sounds right.. why haven't i done any networking in uni :(( and am already at the end of my degree though lol.
Computer Science is the way to go!! Great video! I post similar things on my channel about college, career and computer science so this is pretty cool!
I've recently posted a video about the power of a computer science career. Once you get the foundations of computer science and programming, you're entitled to succeed at your tech career.
...how is it that I feel CS was my perfect choice but sw development is not my path? I hate practice courses where we need to make apps and if I make one more report about agile methodologies I’m dropping out.
bro I have wasted 3 years of my life but i have only finished 1 year of my degree, Do I have hope? I am doing computer science degree and I am 24 years old.
Yes, absolutely you can. If you have reached late is better than not reaching. A lot of people find their passion after their 30s or 40s. Just keep it up and work hard as much as you can, it will pay off. It's okay you have learned from those 3 years a lot, you've learned that you have to work hard it's never too late. I know the society has pressure on you, they want you to figure out yourself they want you to get married they want you to graduate they want you to have a job, i know it's hard sometimes to not consider their thoughts abt you, but at the end their thoughts will not do anything.

@@fouadS31 well, some of my beliefs have changed from that year long comment. Now I want to work hard bc my deen teaches me to be a strong believer. Now I want to work for the hereafter before this Dunya. الحمد لله على نعمة الهداية ربنا زدنا هدى وأجعلنا من الصالحين
