@@kenmcphail1320 he was a really great receiver for us, but that was the first big game I attended as a season ticket holder, and to see that was devastating
To be fair to Army im pretty sure it was just their dumbass punter trying to show off. If a coach ever called a fake punt on 4th and 40 up 35-7 I think they would be lynched
It wasn't a designed fake. It was a bad snap, which normally gives a punter the idea to run with the ball because they don't think they'll be able to get the kick off after recovering from the bad snap anyway. The punter just couldn't overcome his natural instinct to run when they had 44 yards to go for the first. Definitely dumb but not a called play.
@@gavindies7271, under Botch Jones, Tennessee was not Rocky Top, we were Gravel Top... There was ZerO discipline, poor coaching on the Field, and Let the Ego Players run the Program-all but into the ground.... The AD and President were clueless and more concerned with P.C. than anything else..... Jalen Hurd was a bundle of ego and lacking a little upstairs..... Now he, Hurd will never be heard from again and, out of the NFL with a bad back and will be lucky to work at a Big Box Store....
I took part in a class with Les Miles teaching how to tell time. After explaining to everyone that after the game clock runs down to 3 seconds that the first quarter starts over and the team that has the ball is awarded the win---makes since to me.
Actually it would be a 112 yard field goal. 95 yards plus a 10 yard end zone (goal post at back of) plus the kick comes from 7 yards behind line of scrimmage.
I looked up that Kaelin Clay kid and the results of that game. Instead of going up 14-0, game gets tied 7-7 and they go on to lose 51-27. This is what I don't get. He had 1 TD in his FBS career before that. He was averaging less than 20 yards a game receiving going into that. This wasn't some team MVP having a moment of arrogance. It was just truly a really stupid play.
Exodus 20:7 “You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold guiltless anyone who takes his name in vain.” It’s not right to use God’s Name in vain. He tells us that in the Bible. I pray that you will realize and stop saying it. God bless and just letting you know
*NOTE For the LSU vs Ole Miss Game LSU trailed by 2 so had they made a field goal they would've won the game, but with one second left they attempted a spike which resulted in the clock hitting zero*
Mohammed Nana well when u get a first down the clock stops until the chains are moved, so LSU should've immediately gotten their field goal team out instead of waiting
As an LSU fan I love to remember that play against Ole Miss. Les Miles was most likely the WORST coach of all time when it came to clock management. I'm so happy that we have a real team of coaches now.
Dropping the ball (or slowing down, or changing how you are holding the football) as you near the goal line is something that certain types of young men do because style is far too important to them.
I always ask, how has this not been coached out of the game by now? Players far too concerned with celebrating and showing off, despite the fact hundreds of thousands of people have scored touchdowns in the history of football. You aren't anything special. I'd make my team hold onto the ball until they run out of the back of the endzone.
Army decides to fake a punt on 4th and 44, leading by 28 points with less than a minute in the first half. These are our future military officers, folks.
I think it was Vince Lombardi who had a player who kept fumbling, so he had the football taped to the guy's hand, and he got to carry it around for a while.
@@howardsmith9342 That works, but I was referring to the Utah player who INTENTIONALLY dropped the ball before he had crossed the goal line. I guess that was still a fumble, but not because he couldn't hold on to it.
The Clemson play at 3:30... the ref was starting to signal dead ball before the Tigers recovered. Interesting scenario. Kinda with we would have had more after the play to see if it was discussed.
I was sitting in the front row right in front of Kaelin Clay when he dropped it at the 1. Didn’t even notice. I was hyped af. When they ruled it a TD for Oregon instead, I legit threw up. I had been kinda sick all day but I wasn’t gonna miss the oregon game and that rollercoaster of emotion got to me. I was as embarrassed as him that day, a lot of people saw me barf
LSU/Ole Miss at 2:00 was the absolute worst play I've ever witnessed in my life. Had me sitting at work gesturing at my phone like "WTF?!" 😭. I'd hate to be a fan that night
The Army Punter one is funny because he is on the ground after the play and his teammates totally ignore him and don’t help him up. They just leave him and jog off the field.
They should've tried a 110 yard field goal on 3rd and 93. Yes the math is correct. 93+7+10. Ball is on the 7, generally a 7 yard snap on field goal attempts, and the uprights are at the back of the 10 yard endzone. 👍
I feel bad for Butch. He's a sight better than Lane Kiffin and Derek Dooley were for us. It's not entirely his fault. We have a young team this year. We lost Dobbs, we lost Malone, and we lost Hurd. Frankly the only experienced player we have is Ethan Wolfe. We'll get back to where we were.
And he should get benched. You have defenders all around you and you're gonna prance dance into the endzone?? It's like dropping the ball before you cross the goal line thinking youre getting a TD. Sometimes I wonder what these young men are thinking
Shout out to the one Utah player with his head screwed on enough to actually do something when the ball was picked up and they started to run it the other way while the rest of the team celebrated. Watching that when it happened was painful.
