I don’t know what year Day is in but this is only the start of year 3 for Lanning. Peoples expectations of him make it seem like he’s in year 15. No he hasn’t won a big one yet but it’s coming. He’s building it right, in Eugene. Still even has a few Cristobal players on the roster. He’s just getting going. Great days to be a Duck!

At this point, for Day, Smart hadn't yet won a Natty either. His record against Bama is worse than Day's against Michigan. Therefore, I don't understand the Ryan Day hate.

@Al-Rudigor can't agree that it's hate, but more of not meeting expectations. You mean to tell us that Georgia, a program not known for winning Natty's, had the expectations of winning like Ohio State?

@@bobnboshow you do seem to understand the expectations at Ohio State. We always want to win every game. That's why we don't panic and fire coaches. That's how teams fall off the map. Remember Bo Pelini and Nebraska? Anyway, my point is that, Kirby wasn't considered great, until he was. Ohio State fans aren't calling for his job.

@Al-Rudigor Maybe not yet. Though he's definitely on the hot seat. Not to mention that conference just got more difficult. Making the playoffs may buy him another year, but he'll need to win soon or it could get ugly.

Can Dillion fill the very big shoes of Bo Nix? Remains to be seen. Oregon doesn't want a "star" QB as much as it wants a QB who can run the offense and manage the game with all the different weapons they've assembled. Reading Defenses play by play is as important or more so than slinging' the ball around.

Reading defenses is something Dillon is very good at. He dissected things very well in Oklahoma. The issue is physically ability and if he is capable of getting the ball where it needs to be with precision, and on time.

It is a great time to be a Duck fan. Some commentators on national level think Oregon has right pieces for going 12-0, though I lean toward 11-1. Someone leaked conversation a few weeks ago that Ryan Day was "nervous" about coming to Autzen Oct 12. Oregon should be 5-0 at that point and have momentum. OSU might have same record. That game is the Big Mid-Term Exam for both teams. If Oregon beats Ohio St, Michigan may be in trouble. Same for Wisconsin.

@@bobnboshow Okay, well assuming it's Dan's staff that is not worried. I'll take that as a good sign. Though going to Wisconsin in Nov. has some of us in Oregon wondering if the weather could be a factor. I mean it has been brought up on a few occasions in assessing the schedule.

Lanning has to go through Georgia to hoist that trophy. Anyone dispute that? Do the Buckeyes get over 30 days to prepare for UGA another time? Nah. Noone gets a month to beat anyone anymore.
