On PSU, as a guy who watches every snap and digests all the N-Lion info… here’s what we have: The defense plays simple in the first half until DC Allen sees what he needs, then the adjustments start happening… and that usually means decent 1st half D, and a shut-down 2nd half defense. The issue has been how the offense starts slowly. Each game starts with a solid looking drive, or 2… where we shoot ourselves in the foot and wind up w/ a FG or nothing. Vs Wisky it was a great pass to Fleming poss for a TD, that he flat-out dropped. I think that OC Kotelnicki loves the Beau Pribula offense, and gets a bit bored with the Drew Allar offense… and often gets in a play-calling rut; Making good throws and eating yds down the seam? (Yawn…) Let’s stop that and work on the sidelines, where their coverage is better and see if that’s more fun! On the OSU game: If PSU can run the ball well out of the gate, the Suckeyes are in trouble… and that includes the possibility that Allar is out (looks like a knee, not an ankle - big brace - testing it by rocking forward & back over his front foot). Pribula was a 4-star, and a helluva athlete.
Aside from the fluke post A&M high loss to NIU, how good does the A&M win make ND look? Not trying to get ahead of myself, I know ND is more than capable of losing another game, but if they don’t and they stay clean, how good are the Irish after shutting down a hyped undefeated Navy and also going into Kyle field and beating A&M?
