The Associates Degrees are simply the first two years toward your Bachelors. Most peoples strategy is to go to community college for their first 2 years, get an Associates and then transfer to a University for their last two years and finish their Bachelors. This is because usually, the AS or AA is 60-61 credit hours and transfer completely to a university toward the bachelors. Community college is a great option due to the fact that it’s much much cheaper and can provide people an opportunity to get into the schools of their choice. Another reason people choose the community college route is that they are adults with full time jobs and families, and may not have the time or ability to go to a full time university at the present time. Thank you. The Associate of Arts is different from the Associate of Science (AS), often time, if someone is looking to get into the field sooner, they will get an AS and start working. You can still get your bachelors with your AS but you will need additional general education courses.

So I was told that when I do my A.S degree I would still have to finish some of the A.A degree courses inorder to transfer to a 4 university of I want to get my BSN. And I also heard that most work places would want/required to have your BSN
Exactly thats what i have just been told too today. When you take the Associates in Science you will still have to take some classes of the AA to be able to acquire a bachelors degree
What jobs are there for someone having AS degree? Like i took gen ed classes to transfer to university. So, all I have taken are physics, mathematics, English, politics, etc. I don't know if I can get jobs with this degree. Thank you for your time
Great question! The AS degrees are gear towards people that are looking to get into the workforce sooner than later. It's a more technical degree, getting the hands-on experience. Many of the AS programs are starting at a salary that's higher than your bachelor's.

Great question. Most licensed therapists require a master degree, but you can work in social work as an advocate with your associate of science in social services. I would recommend getting into a local college, you can do nights, weekends and online classes.
Hello Fatima, the best option would be to take the Associate or Arts if you want to get a bachelors in Biology. You also want to research the field, most biology majors I see have plans on continuing on to a MD or a Nursing program.

To go to med school you will first need to complete your bachelor's degree. You can go to a University to complete your bachelor's and then take the entrance exam called the MCAT to apply to Med School.

Yea.. A.S. Is still not enough I've had mine since 2017...the AAS is where its at..big difference.. It's basically STEM.. AA is arts and crafts pretty much basket weaving
