do you recommend going ? how is it + dorms .. a&m is my top 5 but heard some negative stuff so a little skeptical

I do recommend going, it’s a great hbcu experience but it is really what you make it and how you choose to enjoy your time on campus. I would say for freshman the best dorm to be in is Foster and for upperclassman try to be in Knight, New Dorms, & Normal Hills!

do you have to have a dorm as a freshman

You do not, you are able to stay off campus. However it is highly encouraged so you can get acclimated your freshman year!!
