JoJo...gotta watch the live version in black and white w/ 50 people sitting infront of them and Jimmy Page pulls out the bow from a violin to do part of the solo💥❗😎
You Just scratched the surface you have to see them live .There stage presence is un matched there look the way Jimmy moves they are mesmerizing . Since i been loving you live in 73 at MSG and you will see what these people commenting here already know they are the BEST
Nooo.. not 73 MSG.. Plants voice is gone. 70 Royal Albert hall.. 1st 2 songs.. then move on to the next from their. Plant still has is voice. In 73 he started to really loose then.. never really got it back after throat surgery in 74.
Your next 5 Zeppelin songs should DEFINITELY be: 1) Since I've Been Loving You - (studio or album version first...live version is incredible but their live versions are always different than studio & u should ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS listen to album version first so u know what ur listening to when u hear it live...especially this song) 2) When the Levee Breaks (studio/album) 3) Stairway to Heaven LIVE 1973 at MSG - (This is the only exception to listen to the live version first.Yeah..It's that good) 4) How Many More Times - (studio/album is way better than the b&w live version) 5) Rain Song - (studio/album first..then live)
Tbf they're both blues rock bands. Both have somewhat similar styles with heavy guitar riffs. Led zeppelin was a huge source of inspiration for Aerosmith.
@@christyzeeaquarianated2600 I think we just have to accept that....this is the new normal of describing bands. Looping those whom we do not believe should be looped. Like the Spider-Man scene making me die a little inside “I love Led Zeppelin” when it was AC/DC.
@@DreamWriterDKS sad, but true. Actually, for me the saddest part is parents not exposing their children to as many musical genres, bands and artists as they possibly can. It drives me insane when I see kids wearing band t-shirts, yet said kids have no fucking idea who the band is. I have 4 kids, and they sure as shit know who Led Zep, Floyd, The Doors, Rodriguez, Hendrix, Janis, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Metallica, Prince, Deep Purple, Roy Orbison, Elvis, Chuck Berry, Bob Dylan, The Stones, Audioslave, Tool, Etta James, Harry Nilsson, Acca Dacca, James Brown, Sublime, Queen, The Beatles etc., are. I haven't had a television in the house for about 12 years now, but I definitely own stereos, I think that makes a huge difference - raising kids surrounded by music, rather than T.V. On the bright side, I'm seeing a lot of the younger generation craving real music, so they go searching for it, and it's beautiful to see that look of discovery on their faces 😊🤟🤟
@@christyzeeaquarianated2600 My best friend’s kid went to a sleepover and came back early. They played nothing to Justine Bieber and the like. She was already playing The Beatles on her guitar. She was NOT impressed by the music and the kids gave her not a hard time, but comments were made. She was over it. “If they ain’t gonna listen to good music, I don’t know if we can be friends”. She has her crew, she need not add more. She’s 16 now.
As others have commented; during the middle, the scratchy/screechy sound was Jimmy playing his guitar with a violin bow. Zeppelin was also known for improvising during a lot of their songs when they played live. There is a video of them from their concert movie called The Song Remains The Same performing this song where it lasts almost a half hour - believe it. Every song of theirs is full of heart and soul which makes the audience able to relate; it's almost primal. I like Aerosmith too but Zeppelin is in a class all by themselves.
I am so glad you reviewed this song! The long pauses is where his heart is breaking! John Paul Jones on the bass! Bozo on the drums. Plant bouncing of of Page's riff's....I get goose bumps when I hear this song!
Zeppelin makes music to move your soul. You looked a but dazed and confused by the end. At least you enjoyed the ride. They are the goat. Check out Nobody’s Fault but Mine.
The parts you said are a break are dynamic, light and shade, which gives it so much soul and power. It's not always the notes it's as much the notes in between
This song is off Led Zeppelin's debut album, released early in 1969. The singer, Robert Plant was only 19 when he joined Jimmy Page in his group, The New Yardbirds (before the name was changed to Led Zeppelin) in 1968. This was my favorite band when I was a teenager. Even though Zeppelin only released 8 studio albums (9 if Coda is included) and 1 double live album, The Song Remains the Same in '76 as the soundtrack to the weird film of the same name. Their first 7 albums are excellent!! Enjoy the Zep journey, Jojo! 💙💙💙💙
Welcome to the world of Led Zeppelin. The Song Remains the Same/ The Rain Song live 1973 from MSG. will blow up your mind. Goes from kick ass jammin to one of rocks most beautiful ballads.
This an an old Willie Dixon blues song that was Zepplinized. Look up the members of Zepplin. youll start to understand why they where so good. Rock on Brother. So much more to discover.
Those long interludes get better when you are more familiar with a song and you're not wondering what is coming next. They let you get into that relaxed groove like you said, and anticipate what is coming without feeling impatient to find out what it is going to be. In well done songs, which this very much is, they set up the later parts nicely.
I've listened to them since their first album and at 16 I did jazz ballet to some of their music. This was an experimental time in all things. Yep I am a grandma and I still listen.
Led Zeppelin is by far one of the most exciting band's ever. I absolutely love watching you and enjoying this auesome music. You make my day, I love it. 😁👍👏
Aerosmith would agree with you. Led Zeppelin was one of their biggest influences and they were all huge fans of LZ! By the what's cool about that middle "spacey" section is that it gives you a musical/instrumental background to the "Here I come again" lyric -- in other words, it's Sex Music!! Haha! But you are right, this is a song about a toxic love relationship. As unhappy as the guy is (Robert's vocal), he is still obsessed with the lady and he can't stay away. Hot!
Psychedelics were popular at this time and music played to that. You say you can feel it, trust me we could actually feel it. 😁Happy to see you liking bands I'm still rocking too 50 yrs later! I'm am also sharing my love of this music with my 18 year old rap loving grandson.
Zep can be an acquired taste if you’re not used to music that is complex and multilayered. If you listen to the same song several times, you’ll find something new to appreciate each time. Next Zep song try When the Levee Breaks. Many of their songs have nothing to do with breaking up, btw.
What you appear to miss is the VIBE they develop. This isn't RAP or HIP HOP, you're witnessing people who EXPLORED HOW TO PUT ROCK & BLUES TOGETHER for people to DANCE TO. or fuck for that matter because that's what ROCK & ROLL means.
This is the original "stoner" music, man. Watching The Song Remains the Same, while on acid was one of the highlights of my life.... That's when those pauses speak to you. It's the 1976 movie/documentary/concert filmed in 73 at MSG. It's kinda like a 2 hour music/concert video... If concert video isn't a thing, I'm coining it 😂
You should watch the live versions of the songs because durings those long breaks you dont like theres a lot going on your not seeing. Rober plant was using a violin bow across his guitar to git those haunting sounds. Back then they didnt have sound boards like we do now. And to get sound they had to improvise equipment to get it.
PLEASE listen (& possibly do a reaction video) to The Beatles song: "Revolution 9"!! That song used to scare me so much and my dad would turn it up while laughing. The pauses in Zeppelin songs with the psychedelic sounds always reminded me of that specific song so they, too, would scare me as a child and my Dad found it hilarious. Eventually I grew to absolutely love all my dad's music. Including the "scary number 9" song. And I'd love to see what kind of reaction you'd get from it. (The song itself does not reflect the rest of their music, it was only a one-time type of song for them, but still is absolutely something everyone should experience at least just once in their life.)
At 50 y.o. I STILL ♡ this one. First heard this at 8 y.o. using my parents headset, leaning against the stereo cabinet, feeling the bass going back n forth left to right. Knew then I wanted to play drums SOLELY because of this song. (:
Your next zeppelin song has to be BABE COME ON HOME.. your jaw will literally drop.. Love ur reactions.. there awesome.. You just heard the greatest song ever. Every aspect is at the top.. plants voice right out of the gate. The bass line.. the rounding drums.. and of course pages blistering solo and chords.. please do. BABE COME ON HOME for your next zeppelin song.
Those pauses are sound scapes designed to create a certain mood and atmosphere... They were also playing around with a lot of the new recording tech of the time. Pink Floyd is the most famous for those sorts of sound scapes. Turn on, tune in, and "drop out" if you know what I mean...
I looked through your channel and didn’t see Since I’ve Been Loving You. Possible that you did it and it got blocked but if you haven’t it’s a must. Do the album version. It’s a perfect song.
I think it's funny in a good way that when he says he feels the music he means emotionally. He needs to hear some of the songs the way we did back in the day before really good headphones! on a 2000 Watt stereo vibrating the 🏠!😳😂
The "long pauses" as you call them are there to set the table for what's to come...They ABSOLUTELY belong there!..The song wouldn't be the same without it.
"He came in there with a Lightning Bolt Pace" hehe the only thing that went through my mind was, Dude you wait till Jimmy Page lets Rip, and your Face said it all........Priceless!!!
So happy to see a young man discover Led Zeppelin with so much enthusiasm. You are lucky, I wish I knew nothing about them and rediscovered all their titles. The next one : My time of dying
@@TheBlackQueen yes he did that song already.. next song has to be BABE COME ON HOME.. He talks about feeing their pain.. he will definitely feel it in this song. And plants voice is so soul/ and gospel.. it’s astounding.
To do any kind of comparison with Arrowsmith you have to go back to that 1st 2 albums Arrowsmith featuring dream on and Get your wings. Also to get a real feel of their old is live bootleg
