"Being an economics major is about giving up on your dreams, to make a mediocre salary, and be unhappy the rest of your life". Have to admire the honesty.
@@gitghetto I'm not a "bro" & I didn't need to turn it into anything - it's called being an adult. We all experience little disappointments b/c of our expectations, excitement & desire for things to be simple again. It's also ✨️comedy✨️
@@gitghetto he's 100% correct and this should be a life lesson if you see how many kids are lost in their life these days once they hit 25+yrs old kids wanna go to University to act "cool" and "have fun" and now think skipping class is good?????. when they reach +25 yrs old they will realize its the nerds who are in labs finding a cure to cancer, the smart kids who spend their weekends doing hackathons so they can build the next $10 million dollar app, the kids who graduated in engineering, medicine, maths, biology who are the real cool kids. these are the ones who will be financially stable, with actual knowledge of how the world works, with a voice to most world problems like world hunger, energy usage, global warming. then you have kids in this video who think its University is "fun" because they can skip class??? good luck when you enter the real world and be a loser compared to the nerds who actually learned stuff at Uni
@@CoercedJabit depends what you go to college for. If you go to study liberal arts or communication, it’s a waste then but not for every study. Besides everyone can’t aim to be losers
Our first day of this dumb health class, our prof was 50 minutes late. He ran in sweating and said "sorry guys, I got 2 speeding tickets on the way here from VA Beach. I don't live there, but I camped out overnight in my car to catch my wife cheating..." Bruh, FIRST. DAY! He was also the weight lifting coach. All he talked about in class was his divorce 4 times a week and we had to watch him cry a dozen times during lifting. Wild shit. I felt bad, but I soent the whole semester wide eyed like "YUL SEEING THIS SHIT?!"
A college girl recently told me she was a gender studies major, I giggled and asked "oh, what occupation takes that degree?" Watching the existential dread wash over her face as her smile feigned. A fucking chefs kiss. I hope she changed her major
@@daxonshackelford5078 eh, some people who major in gender studies are probably smart enough to realize they fucked up when they decided to major in gender studies
"It's not about having fun, it's about giving up on your dreams and making a mediocre salary, unhappy for the rest of your life." Truer words have never been spoken
Bro slide in within the last minute, muttered not a life changing but a reality inducing speech, then get back to his usual work while announcing the quiz. Man, his demeanor is both chill and strict at the same time. Must be a hard teacher but cool as fuck dude.
Out of context he seems strict but given the skateboard and sense of timing he strikes me as someone who probably is still a decently fun guy at heart.
@@josephfisher9043Idk imagine signing up for a lifetime of college debt and your professor with main character syndrome is just collecting a paycheck and boosting his ego. I'd be frustrated now that I'm an adult, but I'd probably be conned into thinking he's the cool teacher as an 18 year old.
I think everyone needs to lighten up he's just having a bit of fun and these are the best teachers, if you would "drop out over this" then you probably would never of made it anyway.
I absolutely love the radical skateboard entrance directly into a joke explanation that this class has the purpose of leading you into a drab life of monotony and depression
@@odog3254 Lol that’s fine, being an _economist_ isn’t exactly a goal of mine. Seems like the goal of a teacher should be to be a good teacher, though.
the whole thing was cringe af . nothing worse than adults trying to be cool and telling everyone how tough the world is while riding a skateboard wearing pink...
The fact that he came in on the 1 second, then gave a depressing speech for the students to give up on their hopes and dreams. So brutal, yet so needed. 😭
I mean, if this were an actual situation and not staged, then the brutal lesson needed here is that I'm paying thousands of dollars not to have my time wasted with a cheap stunt. It's one thing if there is a reason for being late. But if your reason is "I want to make an entrance," I want a refund for the 9 minutes and 59 seconds that you wasted.
@@jreecefwb not necessarily. It seems just as likely (if not more likely) that it was being filmed as proof that they waited the 10 minutes before leaving. At least, if I was in that class and the professor had said we could leave if he was ever more than 10 minutes late, I would have recorded it to prove I didn't leave before the required time had passed.
Clearly the lecturer is speaking the truth since he wasn't content with his "mediocre salary" so he smartened up and started a RU-vid channel to hopefully one day supplement his income 💯😎🤙🏽
Damn. Not only did he trick them, he just told them that their education is shit and that they’re gonna work a job they hate for the rest of their lives. 😂 Edit: For those who do want to go to go to college, I would suggest looking at the UNC promise. They have 5 colleges that is only 500 a semester. But that’s if you live in NC. I’m sure other states have something similar.
I mean, they can just leave if they want. That's the wonderful thing about college: you're an adult. You can walk out of the room. Shake off that high school mentality. Show up for the days you need to, learn the material on your own time, and you don't have to attend class every day. I sure as hell didn't. Graduated just like everyone else.
When I was still in college my Greek Mythology professor was 15 mins late and I was the only one who stayed behind. Luckily I love Greek Mythology and took my exam, got a perfect score before he offered extra credit for hanging out lol.
@bigbens33 just let people have fun. Must you ruin everything? It doesn't really matter how belive it is. You don't go to the movies with someone and hear them say "that was a pretty good movie" and reply with "well that's what happens when you rehearse your lines and add special effects" ( or I would hope you wouldn't"
@@anonymixx8106 only if somebody tells the dean who locked the door, seems to me like everybody was all for no class though so I'm not sure why they would snitch
Yes it is, because you can use CS skills to make APPs and use that as work experience, try doing the same with a economics degree. Everyone i know who graduated with me is either unemployed, working in another area, or had their father get them a job because they were a nepo baby. Meanwhile everyone who did CS is either working in a big company or in a shitty small company, But hey, at least they are employed and getting their own money. Guess what i am doing right now after two years of searching for jobs in my area? i Swiched to CS, and am taking multiple programming and database courses, wanna know how many job offers i can find now? So yeah, if you can't find jobs in CS, is because you don't want to take the shitty CS jobs for begginers. But if you can't find jobs in Econ, is because there are literally none, trust me, i been looking for +2 years.
How to be late for a class you're paying your own money for to learn, and believe the professor not being there is somehow a good thing. Dude is teaching irresponsibility.
@@opmason2293 because I don't go to classes where teachers disrespect the students by showing up late, only to come in seconds before they said it's okay to leave if they aren't there yet. If I'm expected to be in class at a certain time, the teacher should have a higher expectation of showing up on time(if not early) as well.
Thats my kind of teacher. Tells it like it is and lets them know their major doesn't get them where they want to be. We need this honesty in every school
If the goal is a high paying salary I’m pretty sure an economics major is a pretty safe route….he’s saying basically his students are taking the safe route. No one dreams of being an economics major.
