Thinking about selling a kidney to get one of these. How are you liking it? I’m looking for a unicorn of a guitar that I can use for jazz, funk, and old man’s rock. One thing that worries me is that the throwbacks aren’t potted. I run into bad power and noise. Trying to mitigate by running brown box or power conditioner. Great playing!
Fabulous playing and guitar. 1 Question please - The neck is carved slightly thinner than your standard LC. Does it still have a late 50s feel? , slightly thick or is it approaching a modern C shape?
Hi, thanks for the message. The whole guitar is modeled after an early 60's. I'd say that the neck is similar to a couple of 1964 ES 175's I have played, but thicker than a 1960 ES 355 I tried. It sits somewhere between the Collings 50's profile and their 60's profile. If you like the 50's profile, you will probably like this one. I love the 50's profile, but I think the neck on this I-35lc Vintage I have might be the best neck I have ever played.
@@76Soco looks so good! I placed an order at the end of Jan for a I-35 lc plain maple to look something like this before this was announced! Contacting my dealer about switching!
@@daviddowns16 Thats' cool! This is a really different guitar than the regular I-35lc, has its own sound and vibe. I love the regular one too, I have one of those as well.
@@76Soco thank you. Do you love them? I think I’m going to order a Collings as opposed to a Gibson and want to know what pickups I should get. I like the Robben Ford tone. Are the pickups the way to go? Thanks
