Collins Earthworks Volvo EC950F (First in U.K.) 

Collins Earthworks took delivery of the U.K's first Volvo EC950 in July. The 105 tonne F series model in mass excavation spec was put straight to work on a 1 million cubic metre dig near Swadlincote, for the Project Mercia employment park. The 238 acre development is being created by IM properties at junction 11 of the M42.
The EC950F is the key machine on site, loading Volvo A60H ADT 's with it's 6.75 cubic metre bucket using 4 passes in under a minute. The unique blue and white chevron counterweight wrap was requested by the operator based on smaller Collins machines that previously had the design. The 14.5 tonne counterweight is removable for transportation to comply with U.k load sizer regulations.
