I thought modern lead guitarists had all the moves. Nope. They’re statues compared to Larry Collins. And he sings harmony with his sister while he’s doing all those wild gyrations!
Lorrie was a very good singer and Larry was a good guitar talent. However, in my opinion they were never consider a first class act was the kid acted like a “doofus” and made their act seem nothing more than a novelty act and was never considered a first rate rock or country act.
They were outstanding in the Rock a Billy format. Yes the kid hammed it up but he was a good guitarist. Lorrie was great in her performance. Her demeanor was pleasant and she had a fine voice and a great stage presence. But give them a good manager like the Beatles had with a Brian Epstein and they would have become a first rate act.
