Turkey beach equals sandfly city...... used to be good fishing and crabbing until they started dredging at Curtis Island. Lovely scenic protected anchorage though.
Is that Pancake Creek? Must be, if youre going to walk up to the lighthouse? Nice area. Stuart Buchanan wrote a couple of books about the lighthouses history, his time there as a Lighthouse Keeper and the process they went through to get the lease and restoration work done on the site for the tours that now run out of 1770. Lovely spot, thanks to him, his his wife and a raft of other people.
It’s Tony again I just wanted to know did you buy your chain for your boat near the Bulimba Morningside area because I did and mine is all rusty too except for the chain but I kept in the chain locker not happy at all and that was supposed to be made in Australia and in Australia I’m going to have to get some chain from somewhere Take the chain off the boat and then go get it read it by myself
Hi Simon I watch all your videos I’m watching the latest one now up at Turkey beach I’m anchored in the river 150 m city side of the gateway I’m going to move as it looks like it’s going to flood I was going to go down and Anchor near the Tangalooma car ferry have you got any other places that I could go so I’m out of the flow of the river and also I really I only was going to send you a message about your Anchor having trouble I had trouble with mine my Boat over 17 t and I had trouble getting the anchor up in deception Bay near Scarborough so I got in as much Anchor with the anchor winch tied a snubber To it had both tied off good let the tide come in and do the work Les did the boat up and lifted the anchor out no worries put the Anchor alarm on so I knew when it moved anyway take your time coming down there’s that much rain up there and down here it’s shocking bye for now Tony
