Yep! He's satisfied with the placement. #HeadNods. Great Video! Glad he did an example without trenching! I like to watch a video before I get started so I don't look stupid with the neighbors watching through the blinds...
I was hoping for the best with this metal edging. Tough to handle in eight foot sections , heavy when buying in bulk, and horrible when I had to cut the metal edging for fit. The paint perks off easily and exposes metal to rust!!
@@pearlperlitavenegas2023 I had to buy a saw from Eastwood mini metal saw, only saw that worked, but is is electric. Worth it to make clean cuts! I stopped using metal edging because the black finish rusts off and peels after one season and winter in NJ. I found sturdy plastic edging like paver edging that works fine!! The problem with metal edging is that no primer is applied before the black finish which causes paint to fall off the metal edging and spikes. Best wishes!
I haven't started the project yet, but I have a question. What do you do if the metal edging extends 2-3' further than brick wall that the edging should butt up against? Do you bend and it breaks, are there ways to adjust the length of the piece, etc. Reply
Hi Matthew, Depending on where the stake pockets are when you reach the brick wall, you have a couple of options. You can bend the edging and let the extra length rest against the brick wall, or you can use a hacksaw with a sharp blade to cut through the edging. If you cut through the edging, we recommend a splicing stake to cover the cut end and secure the edging into the ground.
Boy this stuff got high priced! $27 for 8’ section. I used to buy this stuff all day for $12 for a 10’ stick, and the metal was much thicker. Shrinkflation killing us out here, bro.
Some people say a sawz all 20 v tool works with a metal cutting blade. I disagree, too much kickback. Maybe a 60v upgrade reciprocating saw by Dewalt may work better? I doubt it! I choose an Eastwood mini metal saw and it worked great!! Only disadvantage is that saw is electric, but does the jobs!
