If you're wondering why we're posting videos so infrequently, that's because when we're traveling to shoot new videos, we are unable to cut them in the quality we strive for. Therefore, we focus on creating the graphics and scripts for the videos while traveling, and cut them when we're back home in Vienna. And since, the last few months were crazy in terms of travel (if you follow us on Instagram, you'll know!), we haven't posted as much, but we now have plenty of new videos coming in the until the end of 2024. I hope you're as excited as I am. Which videos are you looking forward to the most? 👀 Maybe I can prioritize the ones you're most excited for...😄
Emirates 777 business class trip report or brutally honest would be cool. As it is massively hated on for its 7 a row business class. I think it would be great for a review
I’m looking for Cathay Pacific Airways flight report, because I want to see their foods and seats how is looks like! What do you think guys and @Simply Aviation? 😅
Fun fact: Despite the short runway and high elevation of Olaya Herrera Airport, once a 747 of Avianaca flew there as a demonstrator flight. On the terrace/bridges, sorrounded by the gardens' trees, you can find signs explaining the history of the airport. Another interesting note: When you land at Olaya Herrera Airport you will most likely approach runway 02, where you have to fly over a hill and then descend rapidly, diving down the hill right until touch-down.
I just love how you clearly annunciate the local pronunciations. I will repeat that as long as you can keep your voice safe, narrated trip reports are a music to my ears 😃
My first time on a plane was with SATENA, in a dornier 328 back when they operated that aircraft. The main appealing of the airline are the routes; they fly from Bogotá/Medellín to places faraway from the big cities in the andean mountain range and the caribean coast. Historically, the airline was intended for the social purpose of connectiong the sparse populated zones with the rest of the country, but in recent years it has also tryied to act as catalyst for tourism in the most exotic parts of the country. The service is pretty good overall, although there might be delays on the flights sometimes. The prices are usually higher than other airlines because of the type of routes they operate. Also, the flights are not as frequent, for instance, a route from Bogotá to my middle sized town in the east has only 2 flights a week so you have to either book your flight months in advance or pay almost 3x the original price as the flight date gets closer and they start to run out of avaliable seats.
what a lovely airport! did not know there was any infrastructure so nice in Columbia... fascinating little building, and that garden space feels heavenly... wish more airports were like this.
As an avgeek, these rare airlines are rather interesting, especially the aircrafts their using Also cant forget the airports and the scenery on departure and approach
I like this kind of airline, providing an affordable, essential air service to the local population with no frills, just like a bus. I could say I wish the world had more airlines like that, but there are and they’re called budget airlines. I wish more travellers accept them for what they are and not expect Emirates level experiences everywhere
you guys should fly lade, another air force-owned airline (this time in argentina) which afaik still occasionally flies the f28 fellowship on commercial flights
Another regional airline called Clic also makes these type of flights in Colombia. They also travel from/to Bogotá to/from Medellín Enrique Olaya Herrera with ATR-42 and ATR-72 and use the Puente Aéreo terminal. I liked it that concept of "obscene prices", hehehehe... It has been happening since Viva Air ceased operations.
Stunning views!. There are a few cities in that part of the world with closer to downtown airport for regional flights that truly make it so much easier. Take Tobias Bolaños airport in San Jose, Costa Rica, a perfect airport for travelling to different destinations within the country without the hassle of the long drive to SJO.
Wow, I like this. I love all your videos. Interesting airline too. This is why I love this channel. They of course share normal and popular airlines, but also show unseen and unpopular airlines as well. Keep up the good work.
What a wonderful video thanks for producing it more over when just yesterday I flew that exact plane (FAC1191) as Pilot in Command. You are right, this is the best way to move form Medellin amd Bogota and viceversa, but I just want to correct you: SATENA is one of the most reliable and punctual airline in Colombia, even more serious when it comes to offer solutions to the passengers when contingencies occur. Maybe that day you flew with us, occurred bad weather conditions in Medellín or something similar. Fortunately you arrived to Bogota safely. Again great video.
flying with satena is indeed a very exciting experience, as you said, at least for the avgeek people (including my self) also I didn't know you could've speak Español, me sorprendes cada ves mas 😀, awesome video dude.
There has been talk in the past couple of years about closing EOH as part of Medellin’s redevelopment plans. JMC is much more accessible now with the tunnel from the city to the airport. There are other restrictions around using the airport, for example Avianca as I understand it are not able to use it, even with the appropriate equipment. But as you say an interesting airport although with the plans to expand JMC to two runways perhaps an uncertain future. I live close by JMC and its growth year on year is impressive as are Colombian’s increasing tourism counts.
Cool video. I don’t know if I can make any requests here but it would be very cool if you could fly to Daocheng Airport the highest elevated Airport in the world. It is located in China and besides Daocheng there are also Nyingchi, Qamdo or Lhasa which feature breathtaking approaches and Landscapes
Thank you for the recommendation! :) There's actually already a video about a flight into Daocheng Airport available on RU-vid, made by Josh Cahill: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-su3fqtru2t4.html Since we don't want to make videos on topics that have been well covered by others on RU-vid already, it's unlikely we'll fly into Daocheng anytime soon...
@@simply_aviationThanks for the Answer and i’m sorry if I come off as arrogant but I have another recommendation which might be interesting. Maybe you could consider this if you want to go to China. Ali Pulan Airport for example. This Airport was newly opened at the end of 2023 and isn’t even registered on Flightradar24. As of now I can’t find any videos for it and it’s hard to even find how the airport looks like. It’s in Tibet and is around the same height as Daocheng Airport. The only flights I have found go to Chengdu Airport and are operated by Air China I think. Nonetheless these videos give me insights into all kinds of Airlines in other countries I haven’t visited soo thank you for sharing your experience
@@simply_aviation well you might want to check Ali Pulan airport out. It is located in Tibet and was newly opened at the end of 2023. as of now it isn’t registered on Flightradar24 and there no videos of it. It’s hard to even find out how this Airport looks like and there are countless more in China that share the same fate, so it would be cool to get an in depth view of the airport. But nonetheless the amount of interesting videos you guys are able to produce is amazing and is also a reason why I have watched your videos since 2020
Hey! Looking at this airport reminds me a lot of Ko Samui Airport, Thailand. The place looks like a resort & I think it is operated by Bangkok Airways. Do try and visit that place sometimes, would love to see it!
Can you like...... review Bahamas airlines due to them having two different aircraft fleets.. actually three they are: ATR-72-500 ATR-42-500 BOEING 737-500 Yes all of them have 500
planes belong to Colombian State nevertheless the fares and all commercial process is outsourced cause government is not able to deal in market, that is the bad news cause some corruption is made between high level Airforce members and the private entity, the fares are not cheap and they monopolize some destinations. EOH-BOG is more expensive than normal flight from the other airport , some domestic flights in these planes are more expensive than international tickets!!'
