The reason the Airbnb ban happened in NYC is because the hotel industry lobbied the politicians (Eric Adams biggest donors). As soon as the ban went into effect hotel rates and revenue went up.
B y US monetary doctrine policies to "follow" the illicit gains. Never doubt that the previous Colombian administrations were the lap dogs of the USA.. Thanks to Escobar threatening their very existence in the Old Days.
Andre my brotha with respect … you’re pandering a lil bit .. chocolate city was fine pre gentrification black folk here are being priced out of neighborhoods they lived in for generations… stop chica pandering big dog , u too smooth and smart for that
airbnb's alot safer than hotels. They should have a ban on price increase. This is happening all over the world even in Arizona where I live. I only book airbnb's because of the locations and the safety. the owners are raising their rates. It's going to affect their tourists and visitors. I won't be going if I can't do short term. I will be staying for 2 months to go to spanish school so I hope they will let me rent long term.
I find it absolutely insane (actually disrespectful) that foreign investors had the nerve to use banking loopholes to not pay local taxes there in Columbia… But this reminds me of how Europeans took advantage of when the Euro had an obscenely high value at its inception and even the average European was coming to the US and building homes and properties with what essentially was pennies at that time in US dollars after the currency conversion. I really expected some type of public rebellion and uprising in the US when gentrification went into high gear. But it never happened.
@@lovecrossingborders You know what Andre…. I should have been on my A game here. You and Shaun mentioned the two O’s in Colombia during his livestream the other night….
