Jeez, that doesn't look fun. Unfortunately, I will be going through that or something similar very soon. I meet with the surgeon in a week and I'll find out more then. 😖
I hope your surgery goes well. I am having it too in 10 days. I look forward to it after months of intense pain. I was messing around with the wrong hospital system. Gave up and went to another hospital on a Dr. friend's recommendation. What a difference. I am in the hands of a master colorectal surgeon now. A friend had the same surgery and said the pain before surgery is the worst part. After the surgery you will feel much better. She said you can't eat for 7 days while you heal. They will have you hooked up to IVs. She recommended I get a pick line for all the blood tests cause we both have difficulty with our veins. The worst pain she said is getting up and walking while the incisions heal. For me, that sounds like a walk in the park compared to how much my life has been changed from dealing with pain. @@marthasimons7940 When I met with the surgeon he recommended robotic surgery, which my VA hospital can't do. Now I'm waiting for an appointment with an outside hospital.
@@johnk.2508 My husband goes to the VA too. Thankfully they have contracts with other hospitals that do robotic surgery. I'm in SWFL where our VA has taken 1000% fantastic care of my husband. I hear lots of people who complain about the VA ( mostly non-vets who think it's popular to say such thing) but we are super supportive of our VA. I hope the same is true for you and you get the care you need.
