1. Normal 2. 1.25 (Would compare to a 70s urgos) 3. 1.50 (Would compare to a ridgeway grandmother clock) 4. 1.75 (Would compare to a seth thomas mantle clock)
Seriously guys, that's like hearing ANY motor starting and comparing it to something completely different. *Weedeater engine starts up* "sounds like v8"
What kind of clock is this? The chiming is on what music major scale? Is it E, F, D and B? Also, my other question (this is for anyone) are you allowed to tune the chiming bells inside the clock itself?
Colonial of Zeeland grandfather clock from the 80s. Not sure what scale, but you can tune it by pulling the chains attached to the weights. Here's another vid of it ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WVjSY8kqkBk.html
Just wondering if a grand father glock from the 1970s has a speed control for rhe chimes? They used to sound like #1. Had a guy in to oil and now sound like #2 or #3. My parents are not happy. Thanks in advance!
When clocks have a build up of dirt and go for a long time without being oiled, it will cause them to chime slowly. When oiled and cleaned, it will likely speed up the chimes (and obviously not change the pitch like in this video) because the gears move freely. There is a governor that controls the speed, but if you want to change the speed, you might have to modify the chime weight to make it lighter. But if you make it too light it may not run.. so its complicated.. there MIGHT be a way to adjust the governors speed but to be perfectly honest i have no idea how it would be done. You would have to research the specific clock model and movement model to figure that out.
This video is pretty old, and at the time it didnt work properly and i judt had it ticking for the video. I have since fixed it and it runs fine. Thanks anyway.
I know now. I actually have two clocks that are completely mechanical. One is a Pomtrax alarm clock that needed the pin fixed for the crutch, and a large Howard Miller wall clock that needed a ton of repairs. Thank goodness they both function normally now
@@theray2009 I mean, it sounds pretty much like the one in the video, except that one note is slight out of tune because it was replaced at some point. That's all I know about this clock, as it originally belonged to people who are no longer around, hence I cant ask em about it. But if youre some sort of clock Enthusiast I might record a video of it sometime soon.
