Acclaimed Nigerian writer, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie says one of the worst legacies of colonialism is the loss of one's self esteem and the devaluation of one's worth. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie says she uses her platform to speak on things that are dear to her. She also sheds light into why she wrote an open letter to President Biden on the 2023 Nigerian elections. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie was delivering a lecture at the Princeton University in America.

Chimamanda Adichie is a good story teller. She is four years older than me. We are in the same generation and am also Igbo like her. We grew up in the same region of the country and understand and relate with her experience.

As a teacher, this talk was probably the most useful one in terms of gaining insights in Adichie's personal experiences and how these have influenced the novel, especially in terms of setting and Nsukka in particular.

I see Nigeria full of such wonderful people. What is happening to them is so sad. The book THE ANIMAL FARM best describes the inequalities of the different classes of people. The elites see the people as liabilities on the great wealth Nigeria is blessed with. They have decided that they deserve more than the citizens instead of sharing it equally. They have taken the place of the Colonialists over the people. The money from oil flows directly to them and stops there. I pray for Nigeria to wake up from its nightmare.

You know I'm beginning to see how the white race, are looking for a race war, African against African, with their wealth, they will supply Africa and the blackman of America the means to self distruck. The oil of Nigeria who is refining it??? Support them Waring against each other. In my opinion, until the actual facts are disclosed. Peace be onto you. James in America Chicago. 🤔😐

_Exactly._ Victims of abuse very often internalize their abusers as a form of twisted anti-conscience that misguides and mistreats.

*BE FREE MINDED NOW!* *Don't be colonized*!... *Instead of allowing the colonizers to colonize you*..., *you can become more proactive in motion to colonize them first*.. *Life is a game of both positive and negative attitude*... *Any of the choices you make in any of them will definitely control and govern your thinking, feeling and acting capacity and responsibility*...

So many trivialities and self-centered statements, how uninteresting this is. How can one say that 'men read books by men'? What about Agatha Christie and J.K. Rowling in the Anglo-Saxon world? How can one make such statements without embarrassing themselves? What a lack of cultural awareness! A bit of research would have revealed to her that, at the time, many people were interested in understanding what led to Samuel Beckett's decision to settle permanently in Paris. This was mainly due to his falling out with his mother. Then, Beckett chose to remain in Paris following the outbreak of World War II in 1939, expressing a preference (because he was asked), in his own words, for 'France at war' over 'Ireland at peace'. All of this speech is so shallow and self-centered. Everything in this speech is focused on me, myself, and me again.

@@africawebtv1 Indeed, I felt compelled to denounce the absolute emptiness of her intellectual thinking. She is an insult to real intellectuals and writers. I'm just sorry that our time can produce and celebrate people writing such nullities. But I agree with you; I will now bid you farewell, and forget about this woman whose name I basically do not wish to remember. But reciprocally, it is strange that you kept coming back to me without ever being capable to address the core topics. Perhaps I had touched a sensitive nerve or maybe it is simply ignorance.🙂🙂Bye now.

@olivierpierre968 How can one have an intellectual conversation with someone who has their head in the sand and claims to know all? Someone who Frenchsplains/whitesplains everything and believes in their own propaganda? In the various attempts to try and find an opening to engage you in a decent, open conversation, you have returned to give long monologues that sidestep the issues raised in Chimamanda Ngozi Adochie's videos. You say _"it is strange that you kept coming back to me without ever being capable to address the core topics"_ Wasn't this exactly what we wrote in our first ever reply to your comment on the first Chimamanda Ngozi Adochie's video you posted on where you went on a tirade about everything except the core things she was talking about? 1) We are not the spokesperson for Chimamanda Ngozi Adochie. If Chimamanda Ngozi Adochie ever knows of your existence, Chimamanda Ngozi Adochie would be more than capable of speaking for herself. However, we will seek to correct any untrue comments posted by anyone on any of our videos. 2) You have claimed in another comment that because you live in a so-called democratic country, you have the right to go and comment on anything and anywhere you want. So don't feel so sour when one feels democratically enabled to ignore your privileged and self-aggrandising self.
