My daughter (1-1/2) fell asleep to this on an ad while she was watching Elmo, I was in the other room and I came into it like oh thank g she’s asleep!!!!!(it was taking forever and I was sick of trying to force it) then I went to turn off the tv but had to stop and Shazam this beauty!!!🔥 Now I listen to it with her and she does her rock on head bang!🤣

The band posted on instagram: ''TRACK 3..There was a rollercoaster at the old Opryland USA theme park in Nashville called the Wabash Cannonball. As kids, that was by far me and Will’s favorite ride. When this song started coming together I was thinking about all these memories from growing up in Tennessee and this rollercoaster came to mind. I thought that with the riff and the energetic nature of the song it would be a great easter egg to somehow work the words Cannonball and/or Wabash into the lyric somehow. They are just fun words to say. Little did I know that in doing so we would uncover not just a new song but the album title itself. I started reading into the backstory of this legendary train called the Wabash Cannonball and came across this American mid-west folklore: “Probably the most prominent legend of the Wabash Cannonball is the locomotives place as a “Flying Dutchman” in hobo culture of the early 1900s. Like the Dutchman, the Cannonball was supposedly a cursed train forever doomed to ride the rails for eternity. Hobos would only see the Cannonball at their time of dying. Such a story seems ridiculous, but imagine being told the tale in the dark of night, over a dying campfire. In that context, the Wabash Cannonball story would become downright ominous.” I’ve always been fascinated with “train lore” (Hence the Mr. Runaway trilogy from “Leave What’s Lost Behind) so this story of the Wabash Cannonball really stuck with me. It’s eery but also really poignant. In a way “Cannonballers” is barking up the same tree that “Would Ya Could Ya” is, just with a darker tone. We live so much of our lives at this crazy fast pace while hoping to get as much out of life and to stick around for as long as possible. That is the contradiction that this song explores. If we want more out of life why don’t we slow down instead of speed up? No amount of money, clout, or success will change life’s final destination… so why are we acting like we are in a hurry to get there? Why are we running?''
