As always, love all things Jordan fabrics... love this quilt, love your detailed approach to assembling... Donna and Matt I really enjoy seeing you together!
Beautiful as usual! I have learned so much from watching your videos, but my favorite by far is the pressing tip...don't use the side of your iron or you'll get a rounded seam!!! Thanks so much for all of the great information & tips!!!
I’m 81 and use to teach quilting, you amaze me, I sit and watch your videos all day long. Dang I wish I’d have been half of your teaching. You’re amazing Donna. I hope to get to Bend before I leave this world. If I do I’m coming to your store, I’m in awww of you…thank you for all I’ve learned… I sure hope I get to quilt in heaven.
I am absolutely enjoying each and every tutorial Donna has done and appreciate the fact that she and Matt seem to work very well together. I especially love it, when he opens the doors for her ~ a gentleman, for sure. Diane
Hi, Donna! Great tutorials!!! I'm not a quilter, but I love to watch what you're doing. Could you do a video putting more focus on your quilting machine? I don't need to see it run for an hour, but it would be interesting to watch it go for a while. Also, it'd be interesting to see how you put a quilt on the machine before you start. Thank you!
Donna. You never disappoint. I love how you explain the construction of your projects. I watch your tutorials even for those projects that I may not make right away. :-) Anyway, keep up the good work and I can't wait to see what quilts you have planned for the coming holiday season. Also, in a future tutorial, will you please mention the size of your cutting mat. I'd like to have one that size. Thanks!
Just beautiful! I’m definitely going to try this one. I love large scale prints as well and always have trouble finding patterns for them. Donna, I would love to see if you could do a bears paw or delectable mountains quilt. Thanks for the best videos I have seen.
Want to send you a greeting from Sweden. I love your tutorials and I have learnd so much from you. Wish I could visit your fabric shop. Talk about a candystore for quilters 😊
So pretty! I love that fabric. How many of the fat quarters did you end up using from that bundle? I'm the daughter of an engineer and married to an engineer, I totally get why you iron even when you don't really HAVE to but you do it....just because. I do it too, I've always blamed my little idiosyncrasies on being a victim of my circumstances. But I really know it's because everything is just that much better with just a little extra effort.
Sharon. I love that Donna is a big fan of ironing. There is another quilter on youtube with videos every Friday. I love her and her projects, but sometimes the tutorials are painful for me to watch because of how little attention is paid to the details. She even says that she doesn't worry about how the back of her quilt looks because no one is going to see it. That doesn't work for me. I have to know that each quilt that I make is my best effort. I guess I'm more of a perfectionist. :-) I still enjoy her bubbly personality and she has great projects.
@@Flipper35802 I watch those videos too. It's interesting because Jenny teaches how to make what are usually complicated quilts and makes then way easier and Donna refines the art and takes it to another level. There's lots to be said for both methods. I'm a big fan of both and their styles.
Hi Donna and Matt, this is one of my favourites that you have done flower, I love how you have matched up the same materials around the blocks and around the outsides. For me personally i like things matching like this and it makes a stunning effect. The other thing that i love is THOSE MATERIALS,drool drool. Ooo how i love the Robert Kaufman christmas prints and patterns, as they just make stunning home pieces. That gold Lame type of back ground fabric is just so luxurious and just adds that look of opulence to the whole quilt, making it look so expensive and high end. Thank you flower for another wonderful video, sending you crafty hugs from Central Scotland, Norah
Gorgeous! Would love to see a regular table runner and a table center piece done for a round table in these beautiful fabrics or rounded or curved edge placemats for a large round table. I need to make Christmas gifts and i love these fabrics.
Very pretty Christsmas Quilt and such easy videos you do☺I love the sound of your sewing machine too.I love all your videos and Matt is a great partner for you and how clever your shops are done up. Thank you for teaching us the steps to making your projects in Quilting a quilt top.😁
Thank you for another great tutorial. It is a good thing that I don't live in Grants Pass because I would have to get a second job just to pay for my fabric fix. What model iron do you use? I have been thinking about getting a steam iron similar to that one.
Forget about processing auditorially. The tutorials stimulate our visual modality, leading to successful quiltmaking. Thank you for your perfect tutorials.
I just re watched this tutorial, because I am confused by something in the pattern. Now please bare in mind, that I am really new to this. LOL In the pattern, it says to have the fabric selvage parallel to the body. I'm not sure just what that means. does it mean, having the selvage pointing away from you, or in front, running fro right to left? If you could let me know, I would realy appreciate it.
I would love to see the half triangle quilt made with some of these fabrics. Its made of blocks where one side is a half triangle made of a big print, and the other side is a half log cabin block triangle. I know it sounds complicated but it is not. If you can do a log cabin you can do it. It is just beautiful. And it would be perfect for showcasing some of those lovely Christas poinsettia prints.
could you please do a tutorial for a quilt that includes a floating border. "a border that edges the center blocks of a quilt" I could use help in calculating how wide to cut the center border. I understand the length needed but not the width. This measurement ensures that the blocks I place around on the outside of the center floating border will correctly fit and not hang over or be too short. I hope that my request is clear. Your tutorial s and tips really help me to be a better quilter and enjoy my passion of quilting. Thank you for your help.
Hi Donna! I was wondering about your machine (as others mentioned below). I've also looked into getting an industrial straight stitch machine mostly from watching your videos. My question is this. Juki makes a walking foot straight stitch machine that would have kept some of the fabric puckering under control. Why did you choose the one you did (without a walking foot) over a walking foot industrial Juki (Juki - 1181n)? Was there a very important reason why a walking foot machine would have been a bad idea for a quilter? The reason I ask is because my domestic Pfaff 5.0 has an IDT which is basically a built in walking foot. It does help move fabric on both top and bottom smoothly. I have zero real experience in industrial machines other than a quick visit to a local store. I need to rely on the advice of someone who has been an expert on this style of machine and how it specifically relates to quilters.
I love this quilt, and am torn between wanting to do this one next, or the radiant quilt. LOL I love how fast she sews, I horever am a lot slower than that. LOL
Oh that turned out beautiful. I love Robert Kaufman. I made the Christmas log cabin quilt last year and gave it to my niece. She is crazy about it. I may have to do this one this year. lol Keep them coming Donna. What an awesome job you all do picking out fabrics.
That is a really pretty quilt. I saw a Cozy Quilt design that looked really neat, was wondering if you would do a tutorial on it. It is a called 'Autumn Braid'. Thank you for all the great tutorials.
Beautiful Donna. You have inspired me to buy a Long Arm machine. I make quilts all the time and it got too expensive to have them long-armed in a shop.5 years ago it would cost $100.00 dollars. Today it costs 199.00-399.00. On the memorial weekend, I found a great bargain of a Grace Company Q'nique 15 R brand new both machine and 8ft frame for $2999.99 and I love it. The R means regulated to except computer robotic software later. Its called QT4 Touch. it's quite expensive, so I don't have that yet. Great videos
Stunning Quilt! Donna, are you sell this as a kit and also include the boarders? I could watch you sew all day. Wait a minute...I have don't that while working on my EPP project. LOL I love all your projects and have purchased many of your kits.
Hola todos sus trabajos de patchwork son muy lindos, Serian mucho mas interesantes si aparecieran las medidas en el video, Gracias por compartir semana a semana todas sus ideas, Felicitaciones
Love your tutorials, anxiously await more Christmas patterns. Robert Kaufman fabric is gorgeous. Looking forward to taking that long drive to visit your store soon. Thank you guys.
Just yesterday in your email you showed a great Halloween panel that would be great for place mats, but I just can't figure out how to do it, if you could show us how to take panels like that and make them into place mats that would be great!
Another beautiful quilt! I agree with your ironing tips.... put in the “little extra time” to iron between sewing the block together and it makes the process so much easier. Always a treat watching your tutorials. I have a couple of Cozy Quilt Design patterns and their instructional are so easy to follow. Thanks again!
Miss Donna Jordan I would love to see tablecloths for a table the size of 60 by 72. I have some Christmas fabric that I would love to make a tablecloth for. For the holidays for my daughter when my daughter comes home to visit and brings my grandbaby! Your videos have taught me a great deal but I need to see a tablecloth made thank you in advance God bless you and your husband and family.
Could you possibly come up with a Ribbon pattern? Like awareness ribbon? My brother has MS (multiple sclerosis) and for Xmas I would like to make him a quilt but can seem to find a pattern any where.
Donna I can’t thank you enough for sharing all your knowledge and enthusiasm for your quilting. I’ve been in a slump about quilting for about 7 years. You’ve given me the encouragement to start up again! I’ll always enjoy your video’s. I live about 40 miles south of Seattle, and my dear hubby has already agreed to take me down south to spend time in your shop! Thanks again! 😉💕👍🏻🇺🇸
That background is beautiful. If I want to make a quilt for winter what do I look for in terms of batting and would it be a good idea to use a different fabric for backing in that case?
hi there I love this quilt I have ordered the fat quarter but can you tell the backing you used as I would love to have this fabric so nice I love all your videos
