Bobby Garland's Monkey Milk color is the top-selling color in the brand's soft-plastic lineup. Who named it and where did it come from? The answer might surprise you. But there is no surprise to the fact that the Monkey Milk color catches crappie in all colors of water from stained to clear.

It's a shame they are made overseas now. The quality has gone down and the colors are not the same.

Regardless the quality has gone down. Years ago when I could fish a Bobby Garland just about all day and catch a limit of crappie on the same bait. Now, I am lucky if I get two fish before they tear apart. It is by design that this happened. Not going to argue and that's why I no longer buy Bobby Garland. I tie my own hand tied jigs and blend materials to get the colors such as monkey and blue ice. It would be different if these baits were cheap but they aren't considering how soft they are. I have been in lure design for awhile now and I know what's going on. The key stone minnow is the same along with bassassins. Softer material means more profit for the company. Many of my friends no longer buy Bobby garlands because of the quality issues. Not bashing Bobby garland....just stating the facts.

Great color. especially in the fall for me. I have also noticed that they aren’t as durable as they were a few years ago.

@@ericpettyfishing 4.39 at wally world...go thru dozens of bags a month during guided trips. Then point I was trying to make is the qaulity has gone down hill. The bait still catches fish but my hand ties catch just as many and I don't go thru them like I do with Bobby garlands. Many years ago Bobby garland use to have 20 in a bag and now it is 15. If they would have kept using the same formula as they did years ago it wouldnt be a problem. It's personal preference. If you are only buying a bag or two a year no problem....when you are having to buy 100's of bags a year.....it becomes expensive.
