Primary color (color models) Subtractive (for color printing) - CMY(K is Key for black) Subtractive (traditional pigments of paint) - RYB Additive (photo/digital) - RGB
Thank you for this. This made the whole topic of colouring a whole lot less scary to me. Now... If you could do a video on shading... maybe... Whatever you do, Very good video. Have a great day.
If your videos were used in schools, the kids would actually learn something. These are simple, SO easy to learn, and you learn ALOT from these videos. Thank you so much.
Middle school Art teacher with really 'squirrely' kids...taking over for the retired art teacher & towards end of year...this video is one of the best I've ever used...thanks so much!!
The explanation is so clear, made it so easy to understand, usually tutorial like this use complex terms, with fast talk, and almost like alien words, so stupid person like me will get confused or even fall asleep.
I love your emphasis on creativity. Art school's usually restrain your options for what style looks nice, what color palette fits well, what is this characters emotion? I love that you encourage experimentation. Art schools should let people find whats right for them instead of limiting their options
Brad, OMG. This whole school idea is simply fantastic! Your art style, animation, knowledge and ability to get all this precious info through to other people is incredible. I'm from Poland and honestly, if only our kids had your videos dubbed into Polish, they could benefit soooooo much! As for now, I recommend your films to the ones who know English pretty well as there is a lot of foreign language stuff going on in your videos. Thank you for posting all of this :) We really appreciate it :)
this guys videos are a god send. every other art teacher on youtube is so pretentious and has no clue how to actually break down how to do these basics. they NEED to be dumbed down. thank you so much brad. i've learned more today watching all your videos than i ever had in all the years of trying to find help in other creators that say things along the lines of "don't draw what you see draw what you feel". thank you for actually knowing how to teach people.
Thank you for this, I just started with digital art and have been watching all your videos and advising my kids to do the same, they're all trying to do digital art
This channel is a treasure. Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos with so much dedication. The quality of content, video, animation, storytelling… all is amazing!!
this was the most helpful video of the color wheel ever!! other videos just make things too complicated and mention too many jargon without explaining anything. thank you for this!!!
Hey brad I don't know if you'll read this but youve helped myvart immensely and the recommendations for apps have helped my animation as well. Thank you for this simple yet informative video.
i love how i came from not even being able to draw a little tree, to making somewhat good looking heads in just a day, this tutorial are really amazing
I wish if you were the one who is teaching me in my school... i am learning so much just because your way of delivering information is incredible. Thanks for this🎉🎉😢
Within the first minute and 1/2. You taught me more than anything I ever learned from my stellar Idaho education. I love you already! Color babies! So good! Continue…
im 42 and took art all through school and a couple classes in college and this was really fun. Im getting back into drawing and your video was very creative and fun to watch and i picked up some new ideas i forgot about and didn't know. thanks!
Wow. You make things so simple and easy to understand and yet add so much more detail than I thought I knew about the color wheel. I appreciate you taking the time to do these videos!
Wow just found this channel but I absolutely love it. I’ve been into art seriously for about 4 years. I’m no professional by all means but I know my way around art, and seeing this type of content puts a smile on my face. You make it so fun and simple for beginners to learn the fundamentals the right way. Can’t wait for this channel to blow up
I loved every minute of this! The humor, graphics and information were perfectly weaved together to create an amazing learning experience. Thank you for the time and effort poured into this.
Hey! A little bit of info to add to this video is that red and blue aren’t true primary colors, magenta cyan and yellow are, it may seem weird but think about it, yellow and magenta make red and cyan and magenta make blue! Printers can print the color red, blue and almost all other colors but the inks they use are C M Y K Cyan Magenta Yellow and Black (Don’t ask me why black=k)
Also CMYK gives more vibrant colors in art (unless it’s glass art or some other type of light art then it will make white) try making a vibrant purple or green, then compare it to the same but using CMYK! It looks much better in my opinion!
Just had to do a color research project for one of my college design classes and this video is literally the info they gave us. So congrats everyone, you just learned what I did but faster, for free, and far more entertainingly! THANKS BRAD!
Loved the clear and simple explanations of color wheel and the important subjects of hue, tint, value, saturation, contrast , intensity and how to apply the different versions of them . I understand,
Wow!! Brad started to make videos that will help artist and this video is also perfect for graphic designers..............Amazing brad appriciate your work man.
I've always loved art, but have always wanted to get better to bring my ideas to life. Thank you so much for making this series, I am getting better every day with the help of your easy to follow tips!
i really love how brad explain about how we can use the contrast of saturated color to stand out, usually tutorials i saw don't recommend to use saturated colors at all and that makes me really sad. my art uses saturated colours, yet i always receive compliments about how i color or my pallettes. seeing tutorials which don't recommend them at all makes me think that my art is wrong and not good.

Thank you so much for giving us free lessons I can't afford expensive courses... Keep working hard and keep thinking dear.
This is so good, the vocabulary of it all-value, hue, color, saturation, the artist terms that no one really, really explains. I do have to go over it again though, maybe write it down to review it again because I did get a tiny bit confused then I was drawn back in, if anyone understands what I mean. So yeah this was awesome.
