"As a Black Man, we will alwasy be on the cross brothers". That is the realest quote ever. This man, this coach, this father. That is why he is the goat.
It's not a victim mentality when it's the truth for African Americans. After 9/11 that kind of heat, for better or for worse, got shifted as people started to look at folks from the middle east region with a similar apprehension. However, unless you are black, there are just certain things that we won't know first hand about or have because that is the current culture in America. America isn't out to get you. However, there is a significant population within America that African Americans (people of color) needs to be aware of. Unfortunately in 2024 America, racism is still alive and very much thriving in pockets of America. When you hear Shilo say "it's safe in Colorado" multiple times in multiple interviews there is a reason for that. Coach Prime is aware of the extra scrutiny that comes with his skin color but he doesn't let that change his goals or use that as an excuse of why he can't accomplish his goals. That is why recently he is starting a program to help his players to get better at public speaking and media engagement because he knows when you make it big time, there are going to be more eyeballs and cameras and people are going to want to talk to you. However, many of the "kids" still talk as if they are still from hood and they do not know how to properly articulate or communicate. Dan Reeves did something similar with Michael Vick when he first got to the Falcons and that was he got him a speaking coach. Dan Reeves really served as a father figure those early days and really kept him on the straight and narrow. However, when they let him go Vick, unfortunately got back to his old ways and went back to his roots and the rest is history. I won't get into the whole debate about dog fighting because that was just a raw deal and Vick was just unlucky. Period. Regardless, Prime is trying to build a program to not just attract future players that want to make it to the league but more than that a place where he knows there is a real future for the 95% of his roster that won't make it to the league but that their aspirations and success as just as big, if not bigger. Case in point: Camden Dempsey, long snapper. Future state governor of Colorado.
Colorado had all 👀 & views, hundreds of thousands of views right after! Deion wasn't even there last season? To many promises from the Coach & sons last season? 🤔
If you’re going to post media like this, you need to invest in better recording equipment. We can’t hear coach or any of the players you’ve interviewed today.
i can hear coach very clear, if you are wanting to hear the questions being asked it isnt brian's job to walk around putting his mic in everyone else's face.
