How is the road up to the trailhead? No problem for rental SUV?
@TheVirtualSherpa
@TheVirtualSherpa 2 года назад
Should be no problem - for future reference the "getting here" section will detail any issues on the road/TH approach for all hikes including 4x4 cars etc. I try to be pretty conservative in these notes since I know not everyone is used to driving mountain roads. For this one, unless the road has drastically changed since the fall - it shouldn't be an issue at all for all cars.

Showed my kiddo some moments of this video and his jaw dropped… can’t wait to get back west. The rolling hills and humidity of Georgia just aren’t my thing. Lol 😂

Does carying the camera on the stick w/o wobbling etc add a half grade to any climb ? You do it very well , well directed and stabilized .

Mt Holy Cross is one of my fav 14ers because of the beauty despite the 1000 ft regain on standard route

Fantastic looking hike, loved this video! Your uploads consistently get me excited for everything Colorado has to offer :) It's nothing technical, and not sure if Mt Sopris is on your radar at all. But it has some absolutely stunning views during wildflower season!

I really prefer a 5th class climb to the crumbling stuff that is 3+ class , seems much safer .

Do you ever plan on hiking Long's peak via the Kiener's route? Its a climb that I always thought looked interesting, but I don't have the balls to do it myself

Looks like a great route. How do you like the Cyklons? I've been eying a pair more technical terrain.
@TheVirtualSherpa
@TheVirtualSherpa 2 года назад
Very snug but very comfortable- not the BEST grip from laspo but good enough for most ridges

Added to the list. I think you got into some high class 4/low 5 off route. Some of those friction moves seem to be in that range when you were in that corner.

One person's 5th class is another's 3d class ,same a 5 .8 to one is a 5 .10 .. Conditions also can vary the level

When did you do this? Fall is in the air????
@TrailRunner44

Judging by the yellow aspens in some of the footage, likely last fall.

Not fall rn anyway Summer is in full force here with early lightning and thunderstorms as early as 10ish sometimes above 12,000 ft especially sawatch range lately
