i like regular pleasure riding videos..no need for speed or jumps which usually end up in crashes...also like the peaceful music instead of the heavy metal they all play
Wow, it's become obvious that I need to get up to Taylor Park and ride these amazing trails!! Great videos, looks like great riding. Are there any preferred maps of the trails up there?
Is the trail actually called "The Switchbacks"? I gotta get my Lat40 map out and look at it.. All I remember about Taylor park is Rocks and rocks and rocks.. this looks waaaay nicer!
Do you have the coordinates for this trail? I just moved to Denver in June and really have ridden Rampart Range so far. Trail 770 was a blast, but I haven't really found too much more single track. A lot of jeep trails and ATV trails mostly. Been going out to Utah lately to find some single track outside of SLC and Moab.
RideFreak Thanks a lot. Good to know. We are heading out to Moab and thought we would try a little riding in Taylor Park since it looked so cool. But will likely need to leave it to another time.
you have to careful of bears also bro that place is full of them saw 3 last time i rode along a trail. 200 lbs no joke. check with forest service or check google earth stay of north slopes.
Another good video! I must say though, that's the poorest quality of any of your videos. It was kind of looking through water.(sorry I don't mean to be harsh) You found a lot smoother trails that I did on my trip to CO. this summer.
That was taken 10 years ago with a hero 3 Mike, that's about as good as it gets back then 😄 What you discovered and why I stopped riding there is that place is tore up and has gotten worse each year. We did hit some trails that weren't quite so smooth. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RqBVL1ohodk.htmlsi=LxujABcWEGKJbik2
thats why i carry chainsaw especially in spring time, couple of beers and hot dogs make a day of it meet people riding. trail maintenece is important. improves relations with mountain bikers and horseback riders also when they see you improving something.
SHARKIES GIRL feel same way. At Taylor Park we came across 3 dual sporters from Texas in a nasty section (1 lady). We helped them fix bike and turned them around, it was getting dark and they never would have made it. On way out went thru forest fire. Questioned by rangers and back at cabins they sent out a water truck and fire was out soon! Just another day in the Rockies, lol.
I've ridden most of the trails at Taylor Park but have not heard of this one. Where is it from the taiding post. Star Trail and Timberline Trail are great, but challenging.
If you follow bear creek trail to the end where it Ts turn right at the T and the switchbacks start about 2 miles from that. I call this the switchbacks but there's another given name for the trail, I don't know what it is though.
I live in Buena Vista and the state has reopened the pass to Taylor this fall after paving it, I did this trail a couple of years back and as I remember it is a one way and is one of the easier trails in the area. You can access Aspen over Taylor pass or Crested Butte to the south west or several other awesome trails! Try to stay on single track if you can because of all the atv's.
@RIDEFREAKTV aw dang :( yeah its been tough finding people to ride with lately. well if you ever get time send me a message in my instagram instagram.com/ridewithwill/ might be going this thurs/fri and next week thurs fri!
all the trails around south fork, pagosa springs, durango, wolfcreek co. are like this packed mud with ocassinal trees, stream crossings make a weekend out it camp, fish, party, soak in hot springs it rocks. .... best place on earth but you have to be in shape altitude will kick your ass. make sure your bike is good mechanical order, long walk out if not..... ran into these dudes from florida one time on road trip they were all sitting around sucking wind worn out. brand new bikes and couldnt ride worth a dam.
+Jessica Edwards Arch put they were only 5 minutes from the pickup we did 6 mile loop came back and they were still in same spot sea level to 8000 ft big diffrerence.
