Wow! Who knew that you could get those sorts of images with pencils! I've just acquired a huge set at our art groups auction. Thar sort of approach is much more my cup of tea than a figurative approach! 🤗

MAHIWAGA !!! That's the Tagalog word that I wanted to say about your works!
Your idea to use the quality coloured pencils and how you just kept with the freedom on a blank page. I could not believe my eyes in the finished art you drew, erased, recoloured kept going. Beautiful to watch the magic. I'm going to say farewell to the adult colouring books and see what happens. Paivis, Great free lesson you've given! You personality is the light in all this. Inspirational. Danuta/ca
Thank you so much for showing us a "new" technique! I hadn't thought of using coloured pencils in this way. And I have two new Dylusions books to play with! Yay! Thanks & Bless
Absolutely beautiful! I think I'm going to try this out. I just recently got back into coloured pencil after a long run doing just watercolour. I had switched to watercolour because first of all I grew to love it, and secondly it's way faster than coloured pencil. But I missed the ability to lose myself in the repetitive back and forth pencil strokes and the slow steady blending and layering- it really helps me get my mind off things and de-stress.
Thank you for the lovely video and works, Paivi. It's a pleasure and very informative to watch. I look forward to more. I'm a colored pencil landscape artist currently in Louisiana, returning to my art practice after several years, trying to find my way, and abstract is a new path for me. Blessed be.
I am so charmed by this video and was so happy to see the upcoming class - so happy, in fact, that I joined right when I saw the mail on my phone! I've always loved colored pencils and this is a new to me approach. Looking forward to september.
You are an inspiration incredible woman. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. So Im going to scribble color with whatever comes to my hand. Is that like the idea of it
Thank you so much for sharing this. What a fascinating approach to using colored pencil in abstract art. May I ask… how long did this page take you to complete? You mentioned taking breaks, and stepping back, to let your mind absorb what you were creating. So, I am curious… how long of a process was that for you on this particular piece? It is absolutely beautiful. 💛🤗
Thank you for your comment! I don't remember how long this particular spread took, but if I color all in one go, it usually takes from 90 minutes to 3 hours. But I have many pages in the journal that have progressed slowly, and I have had long breaks - from several days to weeks - between the coloring sessions.
