Ohh man dear Andrew.. I kinda grew up with your tutorials, sitting in my little room, doing all sorts of dumb VFX with friends. Now I've grown up, got my own channel and I am still here sitting and figuring out on how to implement your new techniques into my videos to annoy friends. I guess life doesn't really change too much right? Thanks for all your videos throughout the years and thanks for getting this started back then. I also really appreciate that you always try to show NEW techniques and concepts that you found out about yourself, rather than just copying trends.. Original and quality content is so rare these days, I really understand why these videos are coming in irregular intervals. All your success is hardly earned and I wish you a lot more of it. I remember being in highschool, watching your videos back when i had CS2 (?) something along the lines of that... But, i loved following through your tutorials in my slow, warrior of a Dell computer that did its best to load a simple particle generator and now seeing your videos again in 2020 brings back so many memories

Great tip on the compound blur. I love that effect. I've done that water floor trick in the past by masking out the floor layer, but that's a great way to get the floor texture in there. Excellent use of set channels too! And you gave me a great idea for a tutorial as well. Great tutorial as always! Welcome back Andrew!

I‘ve got only one word to say: WOW! 😳 ...it looks so damn easy after watching you building the effects but as always it‘s damn hard to get this results starting with a white paper. Never heard of „Compound Blur“ but this effect gives it that WOW-touching look that pushes the whole thing with the effort of seconds. Genius, Andrew...as always!

Rotational concept of the glitch is brilliant!

I'm having alot of trouble because After Effects is not cooperating with me and even if i follow the exact Tutorial still something does not work in the end for no reason. I swear i'm not doing anything wrong. The Programm for example won't let me turn on "repeat edge pixels" or the glich effect will stop animating for no reason. WTF to be honest

When I add the displacement map onto the new solid (2:48) it won't show the map Andrew gets. Instead my layer stays black. Can anyone explain what i'm doing wrong? Would love to know..

I got a small issue, maybe someone can help with. I tried to follow along, when I try to add the fast box blur, my second fractal noise layer starts to ignore the screen blend mode and all i see in the displacement map comp is the second fractal noise effect with the small dashes, not both combined like it is supposed to be. Anyone know what is happening?

Excellent tutorial as always! I'm totally new to Ae, but was able to follow along, although I had the timecode set to fps, instead of normal, & it took me awhile to figure out how to change it back. Thank you very much for doing these in-depth tutorials, they're a godsend for a beginner like myself. P.S. your madness is so infectious, I went ahead and added SABER!

The glitch is definitely cool, but the set matte and compound blur are really great features I've never touched.
