I definitely think that Melanie’s alter ego was melatonin. She kept a song from her unreleased melatonin era in crybaby. In milk and cookies, “ 1,2 melatonin is coming for you”. Idk about you but I feel like she should show her unreleased songs and make it a album called melatonin she probably had that idea and changed it to wonder why she didn’t make both crybaby and melatonin eras but hey that’s up to Mel I guess.

Melanie confirmed during a Tumblr Q&A from July 27, 2015, that she considered "Coloring Book" to be the title track of her debut album before it was released as Cry Baby. This was written for Crybaby album! :)

Eu me identifico com essa música porque passei por alguns problemas e traumas na minha (sou cry baby e conheço todas as musicas da Melanie!!) na parte q ela fala “Há uma garota em um carousel,estendendo aos mãos” faz a referência a e essa música fala sobre dependência emocional, eu tive uma dependência emocional em uma amizade e eu não conseguia ficar mandar uma mensagem para a pessoa e até passei algumas madrugadas com medo dela me abandonar,na parte onde ela “mas ninguém volta e ela não entende “ eu não entendia que realmente tinha acontecido. “Há um casa no meu bairro com um gramado perfeito,mas dentro da cozinha há algo profundamente errado” Essa parte faz referência a Dollhouse e Dollhouse fala sobre problemas familiares e minha família parece ser perfeita mas meus pais brigam demais e meus avós também tem coisas estranhas,meu avô já traiu muitas vezes a minha avó “e aquela casa,está ficando inundada e as paredes estão caindo,quando a melatonina chora,ela faz todo mundo se afogar” essa parte faz referência a Cry Baby e Cry Baby fala sobre bullying,eu sofria bullying pelos os meus próprios pais e eu chorava demais,eles zoavam meu corpo e até comecei a parar de comer “tem uma garota em uma festa comendo bolo sozinha” Essa parte faz referência a Pity Party e Pity Party fala sobre exclusão,quando eu tinha 7 anos,eu era muito excluída na escola pelas as crianças e ano passado eu sofri o mesmo,as pessoas não faziam dupla comigo nos trabalhos e eu até começava a chorar por dentro “aquele menino vai se arrepender quando pegar o telefone “ essa parte faz a referência em soap,quando o Jhonny pega o telefone,a pessoa que estava em uma dependência emocional comigo,meio que arrependia de ler as mensagens e mandava eu parar de mandar mensagens e ficava agressivo comigo”o ursinho dela é louco,pegou uma faca e a perseguiu,e ela teve que matá-lo isso nem sequer a afetou” essa parte faz referência de Teddy bear e Teddy bear fala sobre relacionamento abusivo,mas eu tive uma amizade abusiva e me identifico com ela.
