Today I’m challenging myself to color a page with ONE COLOR ONLY - Purple!

I’m taking on the “one color challenge” and have found ALL my purple pencils and markers to color a page with ONLY PURPLE. I’m coloring a page from Kerby Rosane’s adult coloring book, Fragile World. And I’ve chosen a page that usually wouldn’t have ANY purple. So this will be interesting!

The major flaw finding your method is that you should have put the warmer bamboo on top of the cooler background and the cooler colored bamboo to contrast the warmer side of your background. Because as you actually did it actually just merges together and looks bad. I think the concept could work I think you just went the wrong way about making the bamboo actually show up

I actually challenged myself to make monochromatic Halloween cards for my Etsy shop this year. I did an all green ghost scene and an all purple bat scene (but I used a while gel pen for highlights on both). It was definitely quite the challenge!!

This picture is everything to me. My first soft toy was a growling panda.dad bought itfor me while he was working away.(He passed away 7 years ago). And purple has long been my favourite colour. When I was 4 yrs, my mum let me choose the yarn colour for a cardigan. I chose lilac. The storekeeper was horrified. Fancy allowing a 4 yr old to choose her own colour (this was in 1965). I've owned many items of purple clothing since then, and it now extends to hats, scarves, gloves, jewellery, handbags, boots and shoes! At one stage my handbag held: a purple: wallet, hairbrush, glasses case, tablet/med.s purse and various other purple paraphernalia lol! Would you be interested in selling the purple panda picture?(It never hurts to ask lol).

I love this purple panda too! Purple has become my signature color for accessories (my glasses and such) since childhood and my dad called me MandaPanda growing up. Pandas have thus become a favorite and I collect panda stuffies now... well, I have since I was 3 and my dad bought me my first one on a trip to the zoo.

Another great work 👏 as always. 🤩😍 I admire you just for making the effort to gather those supplies. I can bet that it took more time to take out those pencils and markers and test them than it took to actually colour the page. And we all know that putting the supplies back to their places is the most hard part of the process. Hats off to you.

It's saturday and I'm meant to clean up my art space. That's my chore today. The only thing I have on my plans. But honestly I know exactly that as soon as I've gotten everything nicely sorted I will pull it apart again to get the supplies I need. It's a whole circle 😅

Sounds like you need a better system 🤔 I am not particularly tidy myself, so no judgment from me. Lately I've been watching a few RU-vid-videos on tidying (decluttering, to be specific), and in one of them it was mentioned that if things are piling up and creating a mess, chances are the system to keep them tidy isn't a great fit for you.

@@IngunnWanderer I mean you aren't wrong, one reason why I never put my fineliners back into place is because the little pencil holder I have can't fit them all, same goes for my erasers who should really have their own box but if I don't make an effort to put all my markers and pencils back into their specific box at least once a week I will never find some of them again. Tidying up in that sense is just as much a "Do I still have all of these and if not where are they" excercise as it is just making things look nice.

I’m glad you didn’t use white and black. If you were to do this in the future it would be good to see you do it without white and black, and then at the end go back and add it so we can see the finished differences with and without it. You’re a champ for using all those different purples it looks great

Stunning work, wow, I also paint miniatures, in our limited paint palette challenges when we can use three colours, like purple, brown and green, we are also allowed to use white and black, so i don't see why you can't here, because black and white in colouring :)

Only my white Prismacolor so far! Although I’m close to replacing a few other Prismacolors and my white Luminance.

Wow, that's a lot of purples😯. Then see the pots on the shelf behind you, 'oh, hope you remembered those ones'😉. I liked the result, yes a little more white for contrast/highlight would have been good, but a very effective picture in the end. 😍
