Who knows, maybe when the colosuss was defeated people started to lose belief/hope in Helios and ultimately causing him to lose his strength and slowly become weaker
me neither, but if you look at the story Kratos became a bad characher in gow 2 and 3, like if you see gow 1 he had mercy for innocent people and ignored/helped them, in gow 3 he killed everyone in his way. This is where these lirics by innocent people kick in "Colosus save us, kill Kratos". In gow 3 Kratos killed a girl just to pull a lever he could have pulled it himself, so this music makes so much sense now, as the creator said "everything will have a meaning".Gow remains my favourite game
@@alexandrugabrielburea6632 Bad take bro! A character doesn't need to be morally good in order to be a good character, which is why characters like Walter White and Michael Corleone are beloved in the first place.
You could use those 3 lines for the whole game Athena: you cannot do this kratos Kratos: i am the god of war Sisters: it is not your fate to defeat zeus Kratos: none shall defy me Zeus: i am through playing with you Kratos: i will make you suffer
Colossus: *appears* Greeks: colossus save us! Colossus: destroys the whole city and uses Greek soldiers to throw like rocks to kratos Greeks: thanks you very much
@@techquest1762 kratos was big in gow 1 cuz of pandora box so when he killed ares he got it from and then zeus hit him and kratos got small with he's armor
Uɬás there is literally no good in Greek mythology it's not that black and white as there's a good guy and a villian Kratos was a justified villian and the God's were villians
I just realised, that the people of Rhodes always believed the Colossus was a protector, even back then irl, so when it came to life, they would actually think its the actual Colossus going sentient and protecting rhodes from Kratos like it was told. They didnt even know Zeus animated it 😂😂 Since it was a statue of the sun god helios, they would think to believe helios gave it life to protect rhodes after they erected a statue befitting of his honor
In other video games, you will fight the boss after you beat his/her armies. In god of war, you fight the boss at the first place at the beginning of the game XD
@@blqcktiger2152 Well, the statue existed and it WAS real, and the people of Rhodes in the next years thought the statue (which it was inspired in the God of Sun, Helios) was builded and made by 6 of their sons. Of course, this wasn't real, but the legends has persisted throught hundreds of years till the present day. The statue was destroyed by a tsunami and their debris were kept on the city of Rhodes for 966 years. But then the muslims attacked the city and used the bronze of the statue, melting it for The-Gods-Should-Know.
@@soyspicepod1547 the lyrics are in greek, meaning anyone who spoke greek already knew the lyrics were against kratos but English or any other language would've thought it was for kratos
I never knew the words could be translated! Omg the Colossus of Rhodes was already my favorite bossfight EVER and this just put an even bigger gap between it and my second favorite lol
@@beatsmithx1090 it's tough between a few different bosses. But I'd probably give it to Malus, the final boss from my favorite game Shadow of the Colossus ( I like big enemies lol )
Huh...never knew the lyrics were about the colossus rescuing Rhodes ("Rothos?") from Kratos' mad bloodlust and rage! XD (makes A lot sense..) An epic song for an epic clash! (and VERY fitting lyrics..)
I gotta really love how the music makes these fights even more grandiose and cinematic, gotta give it to the composers and singers, truly talented people!
Imagine being so much of a scary video game anti-hero that even the behind the scenes choir singers literally sing against you! Instead of singing in a way that they are like rooting for you and cheering for you to defeat the boss, they literally sing for the boss you are fighting to save them, to rescue their town, and to kill the protagonist you are playing as and maybe even grew attached to. They don't see you as just a protagonist. They see you as a threat.
"Betrayal!!... filicide!!!" guys, the ost itself was warning us of Zeus but we didn't know! that's so cool, also being against Kratos is great, but everyone already said that
Today is my first time playing this masterpiece... I’m playing the entire series in order, ascension, chains of Olympus, god of war, and now GOW 2... It’s still better than most next gen games lmao, how it’s even possible it’s like we go backwards, just imagine the same game with GOW 4 graphics... 🤩
@@antmane7 Ironically, the new God of War is the one that best adapts the Nordic mythology, it practically does not change anything of the myths. Buy yeah, the original trilogy is better.
I don't agree, I think the new God of War is the best game in the franchise, although the original trilogy is great, the new God is incredible and it's one of the best games I've ever played in my life if it's not the best.
Nunca me di a la tarea de investigar que decía. Aún así me encanta su soundtrack pero ahora que se la dice la letra no hace más que aumentar la emoción al escucharla , sin duda god of war 2 es el mejor de la saga griega
To be honest after hearing all this lyrics, i can kinda understand why in GoW 2 and GoW 3 Kratos was kinda acting like the villian, i mean he had his reasons, like lets just do a recap, after asking Ares for help and getting the Blades of Chaos, Kratos was just filled with rage and the NEED to be the greatest warrior ever, and after he killed his family (Under the control of Ares pretty damn much) he realized what he became, going 6 months later, during GoW Ascencion, we see a Kratos Imprissioned in a massive jail for those who break a pact with a God, and tortured both physycally and mentally by The Furyes, he breaks his way out as he cans, still powerfull but with his human side still in him, he meets Orkos, someone who TRULY wanted to helped him, but Orkos told him that the only way to break the pact with the God of War, in this case being Ares was that Kratos had to Kill Orkos to break the pact that he had with Ares, freeing him from the pact with this one, Kratos did not wanted to, but it was his only way to pretty damn much get away of Ares pact, after killing Orkos we just see a Kratos that wants his past to be forgotten, that he dosent want to remember anything of that, jumping to Chains of Olympus, again we see Kratos, this time under the command of the Gods, almost 8-10 years into it, getting tired of the Gods pitty, he is tasked with "One last task", to free Helios from the hands of Morpheus, skipping all the fighting, he gets to met Persephone, Hades wife, and the Queen of the Underworld, she's tired form doing the God's task, just as Kratos, but she has another goal, Destroy the Pillar of the Underworld, in here Kratos gets to meet again with his daugther, Persephone lets him know it wont be for long, and he has to make a choice, be with his daugther and die with her, or leave her behind, to save her from the destruction, knowing that he wont have a chance to see her again, he makes the choice and decides to stop Persephone, now going to GoW 1, we se Kratos again, now he has been serving the gods of over 10 years, and he is getting tired of it, they task him with another "Last Task", to stop Ares, skipping all the fight again, and of course seeing the cutscenes of his past (Already explained it in the begining) During the fight against Ares, the God of War send Kratos back to the moment where he killed his family, and after a standoff against many copys of Kratos, Ares pulls out of him the Blades of Chaos and Kills his family AGAIN right infront of him, torturing him again, but Kratos wont fall down that easy, and puts a fight agains the God of War, and after the fight, Kratos goes to one of the entrances of the Mount Olympus, infront of him, theres and edge, and looking down, theres just a sea filled with sharp rock, his going to take his life, but Athena denies this, saying "None one capable of doing what you are capable of, should go this way, we cant let you go" (I think) and Kratos ask her, why the Gods havent made me forgotten my past? she just tell him, "No God Neither Human would ever be able to forget his past" pretty damn much putting down, everything that Kratos was going on for, to forget his past, now jumping in Ghost of Sparta, we see Kratos as the now new God of War (well kind off) he is still filled with nightmare of his past, but some of those nightmare are actually of his childhood, when they took Deimos (His brother) away from him, he goes to Aclantis, Poseidon's city of Choice, where Kratos finds his mother ALIVE, whe he thoug she was DEAD, and his mother tells hims the truth, Deimos was alive all this time, and Kratos after some dialoge ask for his father, his mother tells him the name, "Zeus" but right after this, his mother becomes a monster, a cursed placed by Zeus just in case she tried to warn Kratos, and in this case, Kratos in forced to Kill HIS OWN MOTHER, after that and some other fighting and also killing Thanatos daugther Kratos accidentally destroys Atlantis, in his way to find Deimos, after Kratos found out he was at Thanatos reign, and also come in mind and realizes, that the day Deimos was taken away from him, Ares was not alone, there was someone else, and he realizes it was Athena, the same Goddes that gave him the Gods task and will for over a decaded, Kratos eventually finds his brother Deimons, but this one rejects him, saying things like "You leave me behind brother", putting Kratos in a situation where his OWN BROTHER hates him, after again some fight he and his brother go kill Thanatos, but during the fight, Deimos is killed, and Kratos rage filled him, kills Thanatos, and almost takes away his life again, but Athena intervents and says, "You are now ready to be a God" after all that, he just tell her "The Gods will pay for this", The last two things that are keeping him alive now, are his Rage, and his home Sparta, and lets just say that in GoW 2, Kratos gets betrayed by Zeus, Zeus destroy his home, Sparta, and always reminds him of what he has done, and in the last fight Zeus gets his ass whoped and when he is about to die, Athena intervens and saves Zeus, and well, in God of War 3 just look on YT what happened to all the gods, All of this just goes to prove that Kratos revenge was more than self-explanatory, and it was justified, but he just wantes to destroy Zeus, not Olympus itself. Bro this shit took me ages to write, please gimme a like, its appreciated, i would highly recomenyou to play all the GOW games, but if you want to play them in order, Heres the List: God of War Ascencion, God of War Chains of Olympus, God of War 1, God of War Ghost of Sparta, God of War 2, God of War 3. Im not taking in count GoW Betrayal bcuz is not canon, the Devs at Santa Monica Studio said it (Even tho the story in it does fit between the GOW games, being pretty much like this GOW 1, GOW Betrayal, GOW Ghost of Sparta, Gow 2) And the game came out for a platform that was new for its age, i am talking about Mobile Phone, not Androids and that stuff, just Mobile phones. If you wanna play Both Chains of Olympus, And Ghost of Sparta You can actually play them in mobile, also goes for GoW 1 and GoW 2, but those two are basically for High-End Mobiles, just look for YT Tutorials in how to install them. THX for the likes

Actually “Komattiaseh ton” or ‘Κομματιασέ τον’ in Greek doesn’t really mean Stomp him in English , “komattiaseh ton“ means more of ‘Tear Him to shreds-pieces’ or ‘Tear Him Apart’ 😬. Stomp him in Greek means, ‘Ποδοπάτησε τον’ ‘Pothopatiseh Ton’ Ποδό-πάτησε τον, ‘(ποδό)’ indicates the word Foot and ‘(Πάτησε) (τον)’ (Stomp) (him), yea Stomp him can also be translated into 2 definitions in Greek, ‘Ποδοπάτησε τον’ & ‘Πάτησε τον’ (patiseh ton) which technically speaking they have the same meaning of the word Stomp him
After Gow Ghost of Sparts Events i cant Say Kratos is a Villian. The Gods Kidnapped his brother when they were Children and Never Told him Pre or During God of War 1 Timeframe
@@hurricane7727Bro The Greeks, the people saw Kratos as a villain, only Sparta saw him as a god, as their lord, as one of them. Also after Ghost of Sparta Kratos ordered Sparta to conquer all of Greece, what happens the Spartans are few and they won because Kratos fell from the sky and helped them
@@lucianoemmanuelborda8284 Gow Betrayal highlights what happened after Ghost of Sparta. I would Gos Kratos and after Gow1 and Pre Gos Kratos wasn't seen as a Villian though.
Yooo i played this game so many times as a kid and never knew that this song was supposed to be Kratos getting killed and being betrayed by Athena and Zeus among the other gods.

Wow I am amazed after nearly 13 years. This song shows Kratos like a antagonist to rhodes. And colossus was there to save them. And that the end begins chant at that not just for a song but for the olympus and Zeus.
I also just noticed but the lyrics of this theme at the start of the game actually also mentions the future near the end of the theme Prodocia (Betreyal) zeus (GoW 2) and Gaia (GoW 3) betray Kratos Pethoktonia (Filicide) Zeus kills Kratos To telos arhizi (The end begins) Kratos saved the titans and is climbing Mt Olympus to kill zeus To telos arhizi torah (The end begins now) Start of GoW 3 where the war with the gods started and Poseidon attacks Pretty interesting Imo that they made a theme that points to events yet to come
