Yeah pretty much. I start off really hard then I lighten it, then overlap with the next colour. I have a blending video in my beginners playlist which goes into more detail about pressure if that helps 🤗

So there’s some shadowing from the green marker, just above the fish. I’ll post a pic of the back of the page under my FB group post. I’ve noticed in small spaces it’s more likely to shadow or bleed than in the bigger areas so I try to press lightly and not go over the area. Johanna’s books are the only ones giving me shadowing with the Ohuhu’s. The Lightwish markers didn’t show through at all.

Hi Karen your colouring is amazing 🤩. I am wanting to learn to colour which I haven’t done in about 30 years. I have just bought this beautiful book & want to follow along. Can you please suggest a budget friendly set of pencils to start out with, I would really appreciate your help 😍

Oh thank you so much. Okay this is a hard one. I prefer pencil sets that you can buy open stock to replace colours when they've run out. Not many budget friendly pencils have that option, except perhaps Black Widows. Arrtx or Brutfuner round pencils are another two that are budget friendly that I like but aren't sold open stock. Also the Arrtx have a close range to the prismas. If you have a look on my website under charts or in the FB group files section you'll see a filled in conversion chart to see which sets have colours you'd most prefer. Hope that helps. 😁🤗

I noticed the line art transferring to other pages I haven't touched in my small victories book. Have you noticed this happening at all or know why? I put wax paper between pages I'm coloring until I'm done and spray with fixative. A bunch of my untouched pages have ghost imprints of the page opposite now. So weird.

Ohhh I was going to say if it was just this book it could be a printing error as I know a few people had ghost printing in their new books. Does it happen in other books? Also have you tried erasing it? Sometimes when I press really hard while colouring other pages in the book will have imprints from the line art but it erases really easily with an eraser.

@MyColourfulCountryLife yes it's also happened in my million little monsters books. Seems to be from the pressure of me coloring even though I'm not pressing super hard. Maybe it's partly due to the humidity in the air right now. Yes it does erase but some of it won't totally go away.
