I would strongly recommend putting one of those rubber bumper dots on either the fridge door or the wood that it’s hitting! You may not be flinging those doors open right now but the first time you do you’ll wind up with a lovely dent and scratch 😅 (speaking from experience here lol)
Looks amazing! You can buy strips of wood veneer to cover up the gap by the fridge. Or you could go crazy and buy a strip of LED lights to stick there and have a cool light feature! Also, if you’re painting samples you can buy some lining paper (or take some off the roll in B&Q) and paint your samples onto them and stick them on the wall, then you don’t have to worry about painting over them later. Also really handy for moving them around to see how the colour changes in different lights 😊
This is delightful! I think your collective style, though, might be "Hannah Witton brand colors" 😂 Which is not a bad thing, it's a great palette, but as you were going through the colors I was like "this feels familiar" 😂 So much fun to watch!
Short girl with a tall fridge here, my advice for the top shelves would be: clear containers with a handle in the front! That way you can pull out the entire thing, bring it down, take what you need and put it back without stuff getting lost at the back of the fridge or being out of reach! Also, easier to clean a container than the entire shelf when you have spills. Lidl often has some 'fridge organizers' for a few euros and they work really well for that.
I know you were excited about the bread bin but you could return it and save space (and avoid waste) by freezing your bread, crumpets etc. I just defrost the slices in the microwave as and when i need bread or chuck in the toaster from frozen.
This video brought me so much joy! At first, I was nervous about how the yellow paint would look (and I couldn't quite process that particular shade of yellow), and then when you showed the process of painting and the finished room it was such a wonderful surprise - the whole room is vivid yet not overwhelming, it's so warm and inviting! It was so, so sweet to witness Rowan's exclamation at the new cabinetry. Also such a pleasure to see how you and Dan work together and approach challenges in such collaborative and creative ways. Thank you for sharing this journey with us :)
This is the content that I crave. New fridge! Bins!! As the owner of a fridge that is slightly too large so the door doesn’t open all the way, it’s mostly fine except for when (as you discovered) you want to move the shelves around or fully take out the drawer. It will end up with a dent on it where it hits the doorframe though, accept this into your heart
Wow! I loved this transformation and feel so inspired to give my own home a pop of colour. I would be scared to combine these colours but it's working so well for your space. Lovely!
Ahh lovely! My husband and I were chatting this morning and the function of your home has to change sooooo much when you have kids, in ways you dont realise! We had our kitchen re done this year cos it just couldn't cope with 4 people using it anymore.
I'm curious how you went from the house purchase falling through to deciding to stay put for another 2-3 years rather than continuing the search. What made you change your plans so much?
7:10 the compressor in your fridge has oil in it for lubrication, and sometimes during transport some of that oil will leak into the refrigerant lines, which is no good. Waiting to turn it on after installation allows any oil to settle back out of there and back into the compressor.
Love this video! I also have a yellow wall in my livingroom/kitchen and it was the best decision I could have made. Absolutely necissary because of the lack of natural light in the space. Although in combination with other colours in the space my boyfriend calls the style 'exploding rainbow' ;)
This is so satisfying to see! A little slice of amazing organization adult decoration excitement 🥰 It somehow brings me so much joy seeing it all come together. All those storage solutions!!!!
We’re having our kitchen re done early next year and I cannot wait! Looking forward to organising it all, such an adult thing 😅. Love the colour combinations! love your videos and excited for the next chapter for you career wise ❤
7:50 for the cork bit in the kitchen, you could get some simple trim from a hardware store to cover it up or edge band it using a household iron. LOVING the colourful room. :D I adore colours, they make me happy and I wish more people would choose to go bold with colour palettes. 10/10 My bedroom as a 15 year old when I first posted RU-vid videos was yellow and ngl it was great for lighting videos. Haha. I am also always looking for more clever hacks and ideas for better organizing and arranging stuff around the house, especially when different roommates of ours move in and out and we have different needs. Love the satisfaction of when one thing moves and other things find better places. Optimizing for current needs ftw!
Love the transformation! On one of the other vlogs you were having a clothes clear out - I think you could fit another slim wardrobe next to the existing one in the bedroom for even more storage or long dresses/coats!
I’ve got a rec for a great kitchen caddy that hangs over a bottom cabinet door & has a 2-way lid if you’re interested - you can bush things right off the counter /butchers block straight into the caddy!!
24:00 i was just thinking you looked absolutely gorgeous but i couldn’t place why - the black really makes your features pop, especially your eyes! also thank you for being so real and positive throughout this whole transformation, put me in a good mood too :)
i recently painted my room bright yellow and dark brown and ive been loving it !! so glad you also have a beautiful yellow wall :) the room is looking amazing
It looks amazing!!! 😍🤩🧡💛💙 Yellow for the toddler tower was definitively the better choice, good on them for sending the wrong color. Were you and Dan the perfect fit for each other or have you successfully influenced him to like those colors? 😂
I looked up the Etsy place on a whim as i'm local and turns out they are based 2 minutes across the road from where I work. Definitely going to give them a look as we've just moved in to a new house so thanks!
You two could have a murphy bed done in the bedroom, and have a home office by day/bedroom by night convert too. Then you and dan have a bedroom and office and child's room. I bet you could find a bunch of foldable pu away toys that could be taken out into the hall for a makeshift playroom to expand children's room too.
23:52 I was just thinking that you looked really good even though you’re wearing black as a spring! I think some springs have a level of contrast high enough that black can work, like me I’m a bright spring so I can wear a warm black and look good
Ooh we have the same fridge! We’ve had it for a couple months now, it’s amazing (we’re a couple with no kids so literally never anywhere near full haha)
If those swatches still show through, get a small can of primer (in the USA we have one called Kilz that blocks stains) and cover those swatches. THen paint over it....they will disappear.
Just had baby and we tried to purchase a house last year and it fell through so currently trying to make a 2 bedroom flat work for our family so love this video!
Still absolutely love this kind of content and hope it continues after your done with the sex and relationships side of your business. Would also love some content on how your new business actually works and what you do. Sounds so interesting and I love learning how different industries and careers actually work. Love the new vibe of the place, it’s properly like what I wished I had as a kid for my bedroom 😂
Love the transformation! Also lol right before you commented on how the lighting and the black shirt was working for you I literally was like wow Hannah looks hot in black! 😂
Something most North Americans don't realize, me included till I moved to Europe. Most fridges in Europe are around 60cm (24 inches) wide, that's small for North America, and yes, it is, lol, but...... what I didn't know was that you can get a fridge/freezer combo than can go almost up to the ceiling if you really wanted, hahahahahhahahaah, the tallest I've seen is 208cm (82 inches), That's taller than my partner that's 185cm (6 foot), I mean those of us shorter than the fridge would need a ladder to get to the top, lol, but man, if you don't have the width space in your kitchen but you need an f'n big fridge you go up not out, lol
I've never used a bread box only because it's not just air but temperature that regulates whether bread will keep or not, and after I had lived in South Korea for 5 years, I got in the habit of just keeping all my bread that I want to last a long time in the fridge, it rarely went bad in there, and if I really had a lot and wasn't gonna eat it within a week, I'd put it in the freezer.
Also, if you don't mind sharing- do you know where you got that dark green jumper you were wearing in this video? (At 19:50 ish) I saw it in another one of your videos and its so nice! My jumper game has been lacking recently, I need to get some!
Won't getting higher fridge compromise you Hannah, as a person who's shorter. I know I have this problem with our fridge-freezer that my wife bought, who is a walker but shorter, and I'm a wheelchair user, just a thought, it's probably too late now. Oh about 12 hours, but it's longer than that since you posted now.
We Never considered Baby specific furniture. Apart from a chair of course. We lived in a small space for a while and a chair or a sturdy box or little stool always came in handy. But maybe we spent the money we saved on that on stupid little carousels on markets or things like that the little toddler found exciting. 😂😂 Soooo.... probably no money saved there.
Highly recommend getting the IKEA fridge turntable (snurrad) for the top shelf of the fridge. It makes it possible to reach the stuff at the back really easily.
The fridge needed to stand for a while because it allows the liquid coolant to settle after it was laid down to change the door orientation - although most times it's recommended because they are normally tipped/jostled during delivery! Highly recommend Warburton's bagel thins to solve the bagel dilemma -stick the pack in the freezer and pull out as needed, separate the two halves and stick em in the toaster to defrost/toast. They last forever, even if you're a one bagel a week kind of girlie like me 😅
12:48 I love the energy and the dancing ❤ very cute, totally get your excitement about changes in furniture and things. My hallway is the opposite right now, since I am renovating one of the rooms. Can't wait until it's finished, I might do a dance too. 😊
If you need more storage I feel like there is the opportunity for those skinny shoe cabinets on your hallway since it’s pretty wide. They take so little space and are great to keep everything, not just shoes.
The excitement when I realised we now have the same fridge 😂🥶 We’ve had it for a year now and it’s just as amazing as we thought it would be! We are also a family of 3 (soon to be 4!) with a small child and it’s perfect (despite the fact that I’m also vertically challenged 😅)
A little tip for anyone who got inspired to paint their walls (highly recommend doing it! It can change a space soo much!) Cover your swatches with white paint before you paint the entire wall in your chosen colour! :)
It's probably too late now but I feel like the old TV storage unit could've been perfect for Rowan's room. It's low enough for him to reach the shelves and drawers, and the top could be used as a table or bench.
wouldnt there be space in the hallway for storage? very common where I live in germany to have a closet in your hallway for closed storage depending how deep the hallway is some also use slimmer storage solutioons
Love the renovation! My partner and I recently got a new fridge we had been dreaming about for ages (with more freezer space) so I really identified with that part. Three weeks on and I'm still admiring it 😂
What an incredible transformation!!!! I love everything about it! And I love that Dan’s color choices are perfectly in keeping with the Hannah Witton (TM) color palette 💛🧡💙
A happy colour and extra storage 👌 oh! You can search for one of those tables that can be small and it can turn to 3 times longer or bigger they fold to be smaller, I at least found them pretty useful. Also I don't know if you like that but you can put the bookshlefs in the hallway like a library
If ever you wanna fill in that little bit of exposed board by the fridge, most b&qs will cut wood down to size for you so you could just have a little bit of wood cut and paint it.
Excited for you, the room looks great 🌻 Maybe one day you could pull your games out and give a little speil about your favourite ones? Id love to see something like that ☺️
Leena said in the video premiere that it is possible for creators to have multiple thumbnails to see which ones perform best. In case you did that (and didn't just change from a great thumbnail to an ehhh one, personal opinion here), I have been seeing the one with the before and after and just now saw the one where you and Dan stand in front of that yellow wall. I prefer the one with the before and after (or possibly a combination), because it kind of fits the video better (if you haven't seen the video and don't know that there will be a yellow wall)
Oh my goodness, I laughed so hard when the shelf fell! Perfect comedic timing. I also COMPLETELY relate to your struggle to get the shelves back in-- I've gone through that too and it's not fun! And your home looks amazing!!!!!
