Thank you for your feedback. You can set the ratchets (anchors) on any sturdy structure. Popular places are the eves of a building, near the top of a fence post,or installing 4X4 posts in the ground and with the above ground length of your desire (ex. if you want it to be 8 Feet high than you will need to set a 12 foot pole into the ground - 8' above ground and 4' below ground, for a 6' height than you will need a 10' pole, the idea is roughly 1/3 of the height of the post needs to be below ground. ).
