I bought the same gun I nickle in 1974 for 340 bucks.the original bushing lasted 11 years and 3000 rounds. It was the most accurate fixed sight handgun I've ever shot .I still have it and enjoy it.

I bought a blued one in 76 and shot factory ammo and some fairly hot reloads through it, don't know how many rounds I put through it,but, it was a lot. Never had a minute of trouble with it. Recently acquired two more, one us blue with the collet bushing and the other one is stainless with a solid bushing. I did order a collet bushing off of ebay. They both shoot just fine.

I have one of those I purchased for a "go to court gun" in 1976. Bought it new for about $250.00. I still have it and it is going no where!

When I saw the front of the video I thought it was going to be one of the New called "Series 70 models". btu when I saw the words "Manufactured in 1978" , aroused my interest in it. And I sai "oh an Authentic series 70 colt pistol".

Love this gun, my first and so far only 1911. Best one out there. Sights suck, but otherwise as good as it gets. Mine is blued steel basic model. Someday need to get a good late model with decent sights.

My first pistol was this pistol. It now has over 10 thousand rounds threw it. I broke the slide release twice in the time. Other than that I don't remember it missing a lick. I bought it in Boiser City Louisiana in 1978. I paid......285.00 for it. I still have the tag. I don't carry it anymore. I went the route of the Kimber Custom Royal.

Had a trigger job done on it, and installed the new bushing. Need to get it to the range to see how it shoots. Of course, I kept the original parts (trigger and bushing) to be able to restore it to its original configuration.

@@jenniferbradshaw298 Look for an older Browning BDA 380. Not always; cheap,, but a quality Browning design. SA/DA with de-cocker. Not pocket, necessarily, but very comfortable to shoot. www.gunbroker.com/item/801931662 is one on GunBroker, for example. Look for some reviews in RU-vid. I gave one (two actually) to my daughter. I have a safequeen, and an 84BB variant. (Hope this helps.)

Gold Match Government model series 70 in nickel original box/paperwork and tools with 3 factory mags, and am having a hard time putting a value on it.

Ok, first of all. No ones going to take you seriously on firearm advice if your name includes "Call Of Duty" in it. Second of all, use actual words "u" and "ur" aren't words. Lastly, 21, because that's when I can legally conceal carry in my state, and besides how could a freshman in high school, without a job, afford a .45?
