When we first see Colton in the movie he seems so tough, but later on when he is walking out of school and gets accused of killing Chance, when he cries to his mum and says "I can never come back here", it's so sad.
I don’t want to make assumptions but this movie depicted Chance as a malignant narcissist. I’m not sure if the movie is accurate as to how the events took place between Chance and Colton, but what I am 100% certain of is the character who played Chance was mentally abusing his own girlfriend and Colton. He even goes as far as trying to gain sympathy from Colton’s mother through lies and deceit in the movie. These are behaviors of a malignant or vulnerable narcissist. Again, my intentions aren’t to disrespect his parents’ memory of him. A child dying is sacred. I am referring to the character that played Chance in the movie. The film sends the message that anyone especially men who harass, stalk, and threaten peoples lives should be pitied and honored. It doesn’t send a good message to those that have fallen victim to verbal and mental abuse by narcissistic partners. Those are red flags that should never be taken lightly. Unfortunate that there was no resolve for the innocent kid that was abused and tormented by this child. He too could’ve been affected to such drastic measures.
