The Columbia River is one of the best sturgeon fisheries in North America. In this edition of Pautzke Outdoors we hopped aboard with Mike Barksdale of Fish On Extreme for a chance to catch and release sturgeon along the Oregon/Washington border near Astoria, Oregon. Armed with Pautzke Nectar soaked anchovies we caught and released dozens of sturgeon in this quick evening trip.

Hey I have my licenses and stuff in from California and would to catch a sturgeon for my grandpa before his time is gone how much for a day of fishin ?

you guys know that by releasing the sturgeon back into the water without a protective sock or something specially made for sturgeon, you are just killing them because sturgeon wait more then their back can support and it backs their back when you take them out of the water then they can't swim properly and they will eventually die. (My dad is a sturgeon fisher on the Columbia up by 2 rivers or right of the Spokane Indian reservation.
