Columbina Battle Phase 1 & 2 (Fan-Made) | Genshin Impact 

Hello everyone! I hope you enjoyed the theme! This double phased Columbina battle theme is meant to be like a huge thank you for all your amazing support as well as a 6k sub special! It is a challenging theme to make as we don’t know much yet about Columbina so this theme might not 100% sound like her but at least this is what I imagined when we meet her. I will not dive that deep to the theme as I am also very curious on your thoughts/imagination about Columbina. But one thing for sure that I have to include is the ethereal (lack of a better word) female voice. This can be found in the intro of the phase 1 as well as the Fatui motif in 1:25. Other than that, I have been experimenting with a new brass plugin and I think this theme is suitable for testing it out, since harbinger themes usually have a lot of brass elements in it. Not only that but Columbina is 3rd in the Harbingers ranking so I am actually quite afraid of how strong she’ll be when we meet her in game. The inclusion of heavy brass elements and intense string spiccato were to symbolise the immense strength she has underneath that innocent appearance. Now as for phase 2. I always like to speed up the tempo of phase 2 to boost the adrenaline. Not only that but the Fatui motif can be immediately heard with the eerie female singing at the intro. Tubular bells are more apparent in the phase 2 to symbolise like “the end of time” (I don’t know why but I always relate tubular bells to apocalypse LOL). Now at 4:41 is a section that I always do with my fan-made harbinger themes and that is…. TRAGICNESS (Don’t know if that’s a real word or not but yep) starting from 5:01 is my personal favourite from this theme hahah. Right after the “tragic” section is done, we go back to the intense brass staccatos and re introduced back the Fatui motif but in a lower energy to provide balance to the track, but wait! It’s not just the Fatui motif but I sneaked in the motif of Fontaine there but just like a cameo and that’s it. I am still not sure whether we’ll meet Columbina in Fontaine or not but I think it’s very fitting for her to be at Fontaine so that’s why I’ll just include the motif hahah. Also a little bit of fun fact/trivia; I was somehow inspired by Ramin Djawadi (composer of Game of Thrones) for the second phase. The change in the last 2 notes of the “tragic” motif was inspired by Ramin Djawadi’s “The Winds of Winter” from Game of Thrones season 6 around the 1:17 minute mark. If you compare that to 7:07 of the second phase, it really is the same notes LOL just a little fun thing I decided to add. Overall that is my thought process (not really a thought process but sharing my story while creating this theme LOL). Columbina, the dove, the damslette. The most delicate nickname for a Harbinger. You can feel the strenght in others like Capitano, the hidden Kaenri'ah power of Pierro, the probably genetic modifications in Dottore. Columbina is just a lady, with the most innocent appearence, but feared by Tartaglia, and the third in the group. And that is what makes her so terrifying.

this sounds like it was composed by Yu-Peng Chen himself! it's only missing the opera singing to really fit into the game. love it so much!!

I really like the idea of mixing sombre, more toned down vocals and calmer instruments with the great and powerful percussion and drums, since we know she is immensely strong, I can imagine she fights both graceful yet incredibly chaotic and overpowering

I got freaking goosebumps again. this matches that duality of Columbina so perfectly

You've done a great job at making it both extremely creepy but also very imposing as fighting potentially the strongest Harbinger should be, this has to be a solid 10/10.

For some reason, I picture Columbina as the type to use illusions in battle, confusing our senses with her haunting melodies as she draws ever nearer to us while we slash at shadows and our own allies, blinded by her spell and unable to see our impending doom until she is right behind us. Her illusions breaking as she delicately drapes herself over the Traveler, allowing them to see the allies they have struck down while under the effects of her power as she coos ever so gently into their ear thanks for them having slain all of those who got in her way and for being such a good audience for her. The Traveler meanwhile, is frozen in horror over what they have unknowingly done and the sheer weight of power that seems to emanate from the otherwise fragile looking young woman that has draped herself over them, their sword slipping from their hands and resting by an injured Paimon as she weakly reaches out for the Traveler, her vision fading in time to see the Damslette begin to hum another tune as the traveler lift her into their arms and carries her away. "Traveler...don't go...don't...don't leave Paimon behind...please come...back..." The words leave her lips before she falls into unconsciousness, not caring about why her friend had attacked her, only that they are in danger and need her help, and yet she is utterly powerless to do anything to aid them as the monster in the guise of a young woman steals them away into the yawning blizzard around them.

This is the harbinger I'm waiting for the most, and your theme gives off the perfect vibes for what I have in mind for her, you did an amazing job once more! Got chills from that second phase, hats off to you for the work you've done

i love the part at 1:53 , the low brass and percussion sound so menacing! i also love the percussion pattern and tense strings at the beginning of the second phase, it creates the feeling that the battle has taken a more serious and deadly turn

This sounds like a final boss with the weight of the universe on your shoulders aggainst a overpowered god... like the LAST BOSS... and yet... it suits her so well... her innocent cute and soft appearance, with a power of a limitless god...

I love how this is both graceful and chaotic, with hint of sadness. Its melancholic yet so strong and overpowering. This is great

I adore how in 1st phase you can hear part of La Signora's battle theme, which I may see she also fights us in her name? Which is scary since we know how terrifying she would be in real battle. I dont really have much to say, this is really good!! I love your Harbinger battle themes so much

One of my favorite Harbinger themes. It has a ominous aura which really tells you the amount of prowess she possess as a number 3 Harbinger member.

Oof I got chills while listening to this. I love how I can hear the twistedness, like how Tartaglia's voice line says about her that something about Columbina just doesn't seem right. Love the Fontaine motif, maaan I hope we meet her in there!! I feel like that region with justice theme would fit her so well, since she kinda seems like a character who has her own ("wrong") sense of justice, but genuinely doesn't see anything wrong with it or something... Love it, keep up the good work Farabi!!

Wow! This is wonderful! Her theme somehow reminded Signyor.

There are so many details in this that are sooooo amazing and fitting.... I just love it... from the creepy vibe that it gives and the feeling of knowing nothing about the enemy that you're facing to the part where it feels like a Prelude before an absolute catastrophy... The melody that tells you: This is not a normal person! You're facing an insane god/angel being... The fast beginning of the second phase which tells you: Oh now this thing is mad... Aswell as the melody that begins at 5:05 which is pretty/elegant and fates into this deep approaching bass which feels like an entire army is facing you... And I love how it goes up and down after this between this bass and the creepy melody afterwards ending in this deep "bang?"... Thanks to you I am even more excited to see Columbina in the game than I already was. Really a great job ;) :)...

Personally, I think Columbina is going to be made purposefully mysterious and eerie, though that is not to say I have a few theories myself on who she is, and what she is, though they can be pretty out there. First it's possible she's a Seelie of some kind (even better if she is actually inspired by Hoyo's other character Seele) from the Dark Sea though why she left the Dark Sea is a question that opens twenty cans of worms at once. The other theory is that she is one of the other Descenders/not from Teyvat/even from Celestia, like maybe a rogue minor god? If she is Seele, wouldn't it be interesting if she was split into two (sorta) like Seele was? Maybe that is how they justify her becoming playable in the future? We have a weaker good version of her that gains a vision somehow?

Testing my new bluetooth earbuds LMAO and it's holding up pretty nicely so far As for the theme itself, personally I am not a huge fan of Columbina (tbf i am not really much of a fan of the harbingers in the first place), this theme is pretty cool tho, for some reason I lean more towards the 1st phase of this track instead of the 2nd phase. I do love the bells as I have a history with hearing that specific bell sound... Great music as always my dude!

This almost sounds like a boss fight you'd find in Destiny 2, with all the Fatui motifs and how the music is filled with unnerving cues and implies a dreadful, evil force. Some parts even adopt Destin'y Darkness themes, like the strings and horns. Great music though, really enjoyed it!
