Same man i just left the game and it combat logged me, but i glitched throught the ceiling somehow and i escaped i dont know how to get my stuff back, my northwind career is probably over
U can get them back by going into the bank and there should be a red chest in the bank, press e to take confiscated items, u can take them back even after weeks have passed that's how I got mine
Welp… as a recent sufferer of this fate, I now choose to (hopefully) amuse and enlighten you all with a story of mine: (Disclaimer: this is long, so uh… don’t feel like this reading is mandatory. Great video, by the way; thanks for the much-needed info 👍) ‘Encountered my first time “combat logging” last night. Due to the fact that I apparently live under a rock in the world of gaming (and only just started my Northwind character two days ago), I had no concept of what “combat logging” was in the slightest, though I do now see how this is harmful behavior. Cue the setting on Mackay Island with my decrepit, beginner-level house in the process of being built. On the far side of the island *behind hills of quite some girth* was where I decided to set up camp. ‘Was working on my roof, struggling like a fool to equip my hammer because of a tool-pinning bug, with my back turned to the house’s doorway. Enter a chap with an exterior that made his adept colonial status painfully obvious in comparison to my default orange checkered shirt. He takes out his gun out of nowhere and… boom. I’m dead. Now, this was not only my first time “combat logging,” but it was also *my first time in a PVP environment.* I had already died, so in my mind, I really didn’t care too much about anything on my person being lost or looted-after about 10 minutes or so, I could probably get everything back from scratch. I was fine with letting the guy have his victory. What was *mainly* running through my head at the time, however, was the 20-30 minutes or so I spent on that shack I called my house. So (and I reiterate once again, *not knowing anything about “combat logging”*), I naturally left the game before the minute of combat had finished in an attempt to salvage the actual structure of my house (ya know, for the sake of my sanity). I rejoin… and find myself behind bars with the ironic title of “Lawful” hanging right above my noggin, teasing me every second of my criminal existence, and with my guilt being immeasurable. Despite having no intention to cause mischief or exhibit unfair behavior towards my opponent, I do acknowledge that I was the one in the wrong here. I only lost about £10.00 to the guy, and I still had all of my gear once my time was served. When I returned to my house, I noticed that nothing was stolen or destroyed, much to my relief. Nonetheless, in my fully taking responsibility for all that happened, I still can’t help but wonder what about my situation looked like a promising opportunity to that bloke. I am well aware now that looting and fighting are (rightfully) dominant parts of the Northwind experience, but the player who attacked me… definitely… did not… look like… they needed to do so. This leads me to believe, with all due respect to him, that he chose to kill me simply to give me a hard time while I was vulnerable. I do sound biased at this time, but looking back on it now, I’m a tad saddened to imagine what his intentions were if not to help himself progress through the game. Case and point, these are just some friendly announcements to whoever still somehow has the time, interest, and patience to read on: - Not all combat loggers contribute to their actions on purpose. As someone else mentioned earlier in some reply thread, they could have had a disconnection, had some other issue to attend to, or had a confused and uneducated front during the moment-just like me. - To all those who will (unfortunately) continue to “combat log” solely for the detriment of others, I hope that, one day, you will climb your way to a state of mind that promotes fair battle. - To those that will resume their looting and killing sprees… power to ya, particularly if you’re being fair about it/choosing a player that is at least a *tiny* bit able to defend themselves. As for picking on beginners who don’t apply to the latter category… just- try not to. With all the politeness I can muster, I have to ask that you please try not to. Even with my experience being entirely out of the question, especially for players more new to the game than I, every one of them deserves to have a peaceful start to what is a phenomenal and astronomically underrated game. “…but picking on the newer players is what makes it fun!” “You’re just mad that you died, ahahaha” “You’re suggesting something stupidly unrealistic.” “Stop being so serious about it-it’s just a game.” Sure, yes. I understand these potential responses. Again, this is just a statement I chose to make *out of respect* for all Northwind players. I’m not attacking anyone or bringing anyone down; I only thought I’d share my own experience and make a point that might help my fellow colonists in the future. I will say that, as a human being, I’m not absolutely in love with the fact that I got killed. I am, again, biased. …but irritation is far from the only factor that caused me to write this. For example, a passion to support the lesser-experienced was also involved. I do not expect anyone to take my words into serious consideration: I only hope. It truly is just a game, and there are a lot of aspects that are more important. Nevertheless, if I can do something that can assist and bring more happiness to a civil group of people, chances are that I’ll go through with it. Looting and fighting is completely fine in my opinion-just being careful about who you do it to and how you do it is what I hope some players will focus on. Humans are imperfect, and this doesn’t always have to be done, but the more it can be done, the better the experiences of the Northwind community could be. Apologies to the creator of this video in advance for the possible shock they may endure from seeing a comment the size of a novel appear out of nowhere :) Thank you, and have a brilliant day/evening. Happy colonizing. ^_^ Sincerely, Ryker Barron the Colonist P.S. No, I’m not actually claiming that my Northwind character said all of this; the sign-off is a joke- P.S.S. To address the 0.0000000000001% chance that someone here recognizes themselves as the person who killed me in this story… hello. Nice to meet you. I hope you better understand my perspective. When I have more skill, I WILL be hunting you down for a rematch. (Yes, of course I’m kidding about that last part; could you even envision me stumbling all over the place with the smallest handheld flintlock known to mankind trying to shoot someone that would probably tower over me in real life considering his in-game stature? Heck that, I’m running-) Edit: “Combat logged” again somehow. This time, it was only when I made sight of a person. No combat involved. Not sure why it registered as such, but hey ho. For this instance, it was more of me panicking. Another time when creeping up on someone unexpectedly didn’t get them anywhere-only lost £4.00. Myself as a person have (and had) no intent to “combat log” in the future, though I wouldn’t exactly count this. Again, this is with all due respect; I am again in the wrong and admit to it, but this one is a lot more tame as we didn’t really have time to enter combat before I left. Ryker Barron is not an intentional combat logger. He has just been the victim of far too many unprecedented encounters and means well to all that mean well to him :’)
I remember when I were hunting for animal skins, Someone shot me but missed ~~~ I decided to pvp him cuz he just had 1 available gun left but when I looked back, I saw 5 players 🤣 they all shot me but all missed and after had dodged all the bullet, I changed server So... I hadn't even enter that combat so it was just a normal change server XD they all missed the shots and I didn't shoot them back so fair enough
