As a youngster, I never missed an episode of Combat, 12 O'clock High, or Rat Patrol. My grandfather was a WW I veteran at 16 years of age. My step dad was a WW II vet. My uncle a Vietnam vet. I cannot begin to realize the horrors of war that they experienced. I appreciate the sacrifices of all our vets very very much. Now at 66 years of age, I can no longer watch these programs that portray the horror and futility of war. War is the ultimate pinnacle of mankind's failure at humanity. History has largely been ignored by the masses and we are doomed to repeat the same mistakes over and over again for generations yet to come. The peoples of this world have learned nothing.
I've been watching Combat! now for about two years. It was one of the best t v shows back in 1962-67, even better than a lot of t v shows they have on today.
I thoight show was from 1962 to 1966? By 1967 , alot of these ww2 programs , like , Rat Patrol , Hogans Heroes , Gallant Men , 12 O'Clock High , Mc Hales Navy , Gomer pyle , and Combat itself were taken off the air partly due to the anti-war sentiment brought on by the War in Vietnam(South Vietnam that is )!
God bless vic morrow in heaven for ever. A great role model, human being. Fantastic actor. Emmy awards and best performance actor that belongs to him for sure. He was super in all episodes of combat. Top notch multi talented.
Vic Morrow wasn't a goody 2 shoes type role model in my opinion . He looked like he would of fit in a James Cagney , or Humphrey Bogart Dead End Kids Movie from the Lower East Side Of Manhatten type movie , or with Sylvester Stalone , and Henry Winkler in "The Lords Of Flatbush " type movie.
GR160289: Hey, thanx for taking the time to post all these 89 episodes of COMBAT! Wow, what a hidden treasure 🤓 & YT: Thanx for hosting. At least its one good thing YT does.
El Sargento Sanders is my Sargento. I say Sargento because I watched this dubbed in Spanish. Back in '84, This show was followed by Wild Wild West and preceded by The Adams Family and The Munsters. All in Spanish. Man, what a childhood. During the summer my friends and I were G.I.'s during the day and at night we were all glued to the T.V. Thank goodness for cable. Such awesome times! // ;) \m/
This is one of the episodes that I remember vividly seeing years ago,the suspense was maintained & the action was minimal but this was definitely one of the best!
in 1964 my age was 8yr. and i remember all of this movie,i was obsesed by the clues of wars and like little kids we make our own guns from woodsticks and hollow iron or plascticpipes. And with many of my friends we'd played warrior acts stunnings, fills with colaborations moodments of partners& enemies, we'd make choises to fight, for staying alive.
My daddy said back when this was on, he and his hot rod buddies would be out racing their hot rods and there was this one friend who’d always say “boys, I gotta get home! Combat is coming on!”” 😂🤣
man 1st Sgt Ward is my idol. I remember I was a recruit almost 4 years ago and he was the one that motivated me not to give up when I was giving up on myself. He literally ran right next to me when my platoon was doing the 3 miles. Til I got dropped due to a stress fracture in my left tibia he was still there for me to motivate me. I ended up getting better
Everytime I watch an ep of this, I'm on the edge of my seat!!! But that's part of it, so keep em' comin!! Havn't seen these since I was a kid, good to see them again !!! Thanks so much for the memories!!!!!
As an adult I now see all the moral and social issues that Combat dealt with. They were missed by me when I was a kid. In many way the show was much more than what meets the eye. I was referring to the entire seasons.
Tuesday nights, Channel 6, ABC 7:30 Eastern right after Ripcord if I remember. Where's Kirby and Little John? Why can I remember all that but not what I had for supper today?
Another entertaining episode! Even though ending was hastily completed and the captain felt no pain as the bayonet pierced his heart , still we can forgive the director .Serves the Kapitan right for speaking german with an American accent!
LOL worst accent I've heard since high school German class. Well, except for the "instructor" that was supposed to teach us "intro to Deutsche for Soldiers" when I got stationed in Schweinfurt - She was "teaching" us to speak it with a horrendous BRITISH accent. Never figured out who hired her.
Conlan Carter is such a good Actor , whenever there is an air of suspense and tension , the camera focuses on Doc's face and the sweat running down his cheeks . I have also seen Marcel Hillaire who played the old Frenchman in other films . Marvellous acting , great music and another good story ..
i know im asking the wrong place but does anybody know a way to get back into an Instagram account?? I somehow forgot the password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me.
Another riveting episode! Just a shame it had to end so abruptly. Would have loved to see the reaction of the German soldiers when they came back to find the Captain dead. You can just imagine the guys trying to get as far away as possible while the Germans are coming after them on foot and in their vehicles. There are so many of these episodes you just hate to see end because they get you so deeply interested that you can almost envision yourself right there with them, and you are trying to think your way out of the problems they face!
When the German officer throws the clip to Cage to see if he would use his right arm that was a good tactic . I would of been shot on the spot for catching with the wrong arm .
"A Rare Vintage" Indeed. Repressive role for Sgt. Saunders this one right here... Like an all seeing Angel abstaining from becoming too physically involved... yet administering the covering hand of concealment for the men in his protective charge, even the covering morphine stay of pain for that of his superior... thus mirroring the actions of those so assigned by The Almighty to us all. 25:00 pays to be a lefty, huh Caje! -Former Sgt' "Rock" 82nd Abn. 1/504 Inf. 71-74
The Frenchmen character was great, I started out thinking, "Don't trust this guy. To having respect for his ability to think under high stakes pressure. When this show aired I was 3 years old. And only watched a few re-run episodes. But now all these years later I get to watch them as a adult for the first time. It was a adult show. A good one.
considering that the Germans are bad guys, they were pretty decent for the most part, they let the french guy do his thing, the captain told the "grandson" he can't pretend to do this hard work any more
@@teddammit5179 I watched a video just a little while ago titled ... How to un stick you tank if you get stuck .... I told him if I get a tank stuck I'm getting out and getting the heck out of there before the cop arrive and arrest me for stealing it lol
@@jamestownvirginia8463 My son is joining sorry typo, soon i need a new phone or glasses. My son doesn't want no girlfriend he says, don't want no worrys
@@jamestownvirginia8463 That's what he says, he seen (and heard! Lol) and heard his late mother and i fighting so much and my girlfriend in Germany today (LDR) he can hear us yelling at each other on the phone like teenagers, (German women are like DIs and they're very blunt! I also have anxiety disorder and blow my stack back at her) he's heard the story's of GI's women fooling around behind their backs they're away so much, just the worry he says he don't want it. And i had a couple talks with him he's not gay, thank God. The only thing wrong with him is a bit lazyness but the Corps will fix that up pretty quick 😅
He was in quite a few movies and shows before and after "Combat!",with his last movie being in 1982. He was a very good actor who died far too young. He was only 53.
i was an strange intrudor, befor i was insphired by her contemption moods at her musical roles as musician singer in an crontjong musicband,i was her audience, and saw all her shows parades beside her sister who was my nanny , to taking a good-care of me
Not sure whether many recognize the "new guy" here, but it's Corey Allen. He did a "chicky run" with James Dean in REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE. Eventually became a pretty good T.V. director in his own right even after driving off that cliff. Reincarnation happens often in Hollywood.
He keeps the mags in his coat. He doesn't much water. Great shows. I watch one every night in order and am on my 4th go round. I watch curse of oak island weekly and youtube the rest of my entertainment james bond films are on here right now and I am watching them also. Take care and merry Christmas.
Everyone knows never drop your rifle lay it down or leave it. Garrett was an idiot, dropping it on purpose like that. Come over the side of a boat rifle slung he had a 5 foot drop no noise 2 foot if he hung on wall to drop or lowered himself right on ground,
I don't believe such music and suspense exist in tv anymore. I know it must change to this level of plot. I'm glad it did happen once. I don't have cable.
+John Wright Not sure of that do know he played in a Rifleman episode called Skull .And yep played a bad guy.And Don Drysdale LA Dodgers own #58 was in this as well played a bad guy too
