There is a lot of truth in your remarke. I don´t know about Amerikan studios but in Europe it is a problem with such old shows. Just take the Doctor Who reviews by Clever Dick Films for example. The British reviewer had refered often to the fact that the older BBC productions out of the time COMBAT ! was done often turnde to " Salat Dressing " since many storage facilities were not made for such a long time keeping. Movies and Shows often were seen more as Throw AWAY STUFF on the long run. So many European Shows and Series from the Fifies and Sixties ofthe survived by pure luck or have been bought back by collectors conserving those film roles like holy reliquies.
Yo tendría unos 8 o 10 años Vi combate y los locos Adams unas series muy bonitas no importa que digan que los yanquis son los más grandes e invencibles somos humanos y morimos igual soy mexicano y ha mucha honra viva México oioo
All I know is when I was in the US Army in 1960 and in Germany, to this day I'm thankful no one was shooting at me and I was not shooting at anyone else. This was a great episode despite some lapses in reality. Jack
Este un programa o película que demuestra un Solo pensamiento ideologico que los norteamericanos son invencibles intocables y dentro de su ego no conocen la derrota.Como si el IMPERIO Yanqui no va caer en cualquier momento.
This episode reminds very much at the German made movie THE BRIDGE ( DIE BRÜCKE ). A story about a rather unimportant bridge being hold by a bunch of drafted German Highschool Boys. Director was the Swizz Bernhard Wicki who also had directed the German part of the Blockbuster THE LONGEST DAY. For folks with some German: RU-vid: Die Brücke -1959 - Schwarz-Weiß - Deutsch, put on the Net by Field Marshal Bernhard Law Montgomery [ I am afraid as a German I have to be ashamed for the hybris of this guy ] There exists nowdays even a remake from 2008 but I doubt it is as good as this version. People are right movies so old are better because actors, directors and script writers have known those days from own experience and this shows i think.
I was watching Bad News Bears today after like 25 years & I was about to do sumthin else till I saw Vic Morrow was the coach of the other team. I watched the rest of the movie just cuz I'm a Combat! fan & Vic was in it.
I love these old episodes even though they are full of unrealistic scenes,....like hiding behind a bush, a 1/2 inch wall of boards, or even an empty wooden barrel without the enemy bullets penetrating these things ... Oh, well, no one ever said such things couldn't be entertaining!
20 years ago I knew a fellow who grew up in Germany during World War II. He was like the rest of the boys, he was in the Hitler Youth. He was too young to serve in the war. HIs father was in the Afrika corp.
Surprised Cage or one of the others with Garands didn't use rifle grenades like they did in some of the B&W episodes. They were period and would certainly have been appropriate for this situation.
They sure could have used a good old M79 to lob some grenade rounds into that farm house, unfortunately it hadn’t been invented yet! It was a pain in the ass to hump the ammo for it though, but it was a good weapon.
Most of the Germans in that farm house were just kids. They were in particular the most fanatical nazis. Especially the Hitler Jugend. The Hitler Youth. Started early with them. A good movie to watch about that is a movie called Swing Kids. It stars Christian Bale aka Batman. Made in 93. Great movie!
Demetrios Kondylas Makes sense. Huge German population in PA, hence the term “Pennsylvania Dutch”. Very large Amish population still farming in that area.
Because you never see him in a foxhole, past episodes have showed the bipod in use by others. And why would he use it here when he is moving and it could get caught on something.
Good action series in some respects but like one comment below the guns hardly ever run out of ammunition, lot like some of the older Westerns. Was this TV SERIES back 1960 or 70s?
I watched this series regularly as a kid. Now when I watch, I realize how unrealistic they are. Sergeant Saunders and the boys can't miss and the Krauts rarely ever hit anyone. Entertaining, but completely Hollywood hoakum. The one thing I still like is the French speak French and the Germans speak German..
The German language is interesting where did it originate from/? i would like to learn it then where would i go to practice it? German clubs restaurants where?
+ noemi barrios , I suggest going out and finding some German speaking people , and make friends with them . You got it right with the idea of going to a German Club . I used to go to a German Club in Perth , Australia , and it was a good place to learn the language . I was fortunate to have Germans and Austrians as work mates in the construction industry and it was easy to pick up . Now I am told by Germans that my spoken German and appropriate accent is very good . I wish you all the best , they are very nice people .
German is actually pretty easy to learn. Spoken not only in germany but holland, austria, and switzerland too. Second spoken language in most of s america, paraguay and argentina.
German is the easiest language for English speakers to learn. English is a German derivative language. German and English share many of the same words (cognates) and sentence structure, and pentameter. I learned it with Berlitz books, Pimsleur, and by watching German language shows on RU-vid.
Even more important than this cool show is the fact that you have been deceived. Eternity is a long time. Perhaps you could control your anger and hate if you chose Jesus instead of Satan.
