Great video, clear explanation. I have central heating working fine but no hot water. I have been informed that DHW Thermistor could be an issue as boiler does not know of problem. Thanks I will try your video explaination. Jay
Hi really really like your video well explained really appreciated to you for share your knowledge with us Kindly please can you upload more videos like how to check boiler fan & air pressure switch & more like boiler fault finding & Diogenes Thanks a lot
great vid , replaced 3 of these in one year .. how come they keeping going wrong? never had to change one in 10 years and now three in less than a year ??
Just a quick question please , my heating hasn't been on all summer (turned to dhw only ) , however water has been hot as normal , pressure is fine , however water often goes cold , from these videos it sounds like the temp sensor , however pilot light goes out , would pilot light go out if bad hot water sensor and dhw on only ? Thanks
I may be missing something here but the 10k and second one at 9k are almost the same resistance so both registering around room temp. 80 degrees C would be about 4k - I am not a heating engineer so what am I missing here??
I believe when you tested the second thermistor the lead tips were touching and that's why you got the O.L reading....then when you moved you got a correct reading. You remind me of tradies I've hired here and cost me more $$$ then needed.
redrock1963 im just comparing these readings he got the first one was correct for room temperature, and the second one of 9000 is showing a temperature of around 27 Celsius.. I wouldn’t say that’s too problematic if anything the boiler might cycle on and off at lower deltaT room temps..
If the lead tips were touching you wouldn't get a O.L reading (basic electronics testing). You would get 0.1- 0.9 ohms like he showed earlier in the video.
These work by decreasing the resistance proportionally with an increase in temperature, for example 25 degress C to start at 12,000 Ohms, to 55 degrees C at 4,000 Ohms. As temperature goes up, resistance comes down.
Hello sir l have sensor boiler temperature, 3 wire cable color : Red,blue and white but l dont now type of sensor RTD or Thermocoule . Please help me sir Thank you…
