Thanks John, this really helps on many levels, but I'm so glad to be learning how to better organize to systematically test is super helpful.

another great inspirational video, I spray, so I'm getting a different look, but great results with the same glazes. I'm using the Randy base with less cobalt, still getting spotty purple. Thanks

Sometimes I don't know if I watch glaze making or standup comedy. I like both so it's double fun. Btw it looks to me that the test tiles have rougher surface therefore able to keep the glaze little better, not that runny as the smoothed out cups.

Thank you!! Question: some of the recipes in your book say bentonite but you dont have it on the recipes in this video. Is this something you talk about in other videos?
@johnbrittpottery
@johnbrittpottery Год назад
In the book, (Overview) I say all the recipes in the book need bentonite and Epsom salts. But for testing I don't do it. You can.

Hi John, I also noticed that there was some crazing in the mugs. Would this mean that they are not food safe?
@johnbrittpottery
@johnbrittpottery 9 месяцев назад
Depends on your opinion of crazing. These were just an illustration of the Over/under testing technique. But that said, some people won't use crazed mugs.
