For anyone using ssd's if that's what you want, just leave an empty unallocated partition on it. So the drive lasts as long as possible.

Thank you so much for this simple yet valuable Windows trick! I have four questions though? After 2 different hard drives combined as one (hard-drive), Is it possible to create equally- sized-partion on the merged (hard-drive)? My second question is which way is better for the stability of the operating system? In the first case scenario, spanning appears to be more practical as long as different hard drives are equally in good condition. Should one of them fail, the system will crush and you lose everything. I assume creating a Back-Up to the most stable configuration settings of Windows seems to be not an option at this point! I mean, even restoration point will not be a much of help, right? In the second case scenario: Let's say I have 750 GB hard drive %100 in a healthy state to be combined with 300 GB of hard drive which is vulnerable for installing an new OS from scratch because of its bad sectors; however, it still holds preety good in keeping other types of data and some useful software programs I make use of from time to time. I use this as an external hard drive. Is it feasible to connect these two different hard drives after a clean format. I want to get rid of those bad sectors, but I don't know how to fix that hard drive for bad sectors. I heard with the help of some hard drive optimization tools, there might be a way to get rid of those bad sectors at the expense of wiping out some space off the troubled hard-drive by filling-out with zeros or ones. Provided that you know there is any good fix for this problem, let me know please. The last and the most important question is that one whole big volume out of this 2 hard drive, could we possibly form and use this extended or spanned (hard-drive) for data striping and/or mirroring purposes. What are the odds in creating JBOD and RAID disks thanks to the combination of equally-sized volume of two(2) combined hard drives. I had some experience with IDE hard drives but I have never had any experience with the Sata II and Sata III. Not to mention the new storage technology SSD along with PCI-E and M2 slot compatible NVMMs. What are the chances in an attempt to lucked out on this challenge in a miserable situation like this. To me, if not more than a fantasy but a dream. Let me know What do you think? Please translate soon!

I have a 4 bay Mediasonic Probox HF2-SU3S2 enclosure with four 3 TB HDD using USB 3.0 access, but I only can see each drive separately. When trying to create spanned volume, it says: "The operation is not supported by the object". It's probably because it is USB drive. Is there a way to join the four HDDs of the 4 bay enclosure into only 1 volume letter using windows 10 or by any other mean?

what would happen if you wanted to take them back to 2 separate drives? assuming you did not exceed the capacity of any one of them. would you have to delete the partition completely and reallocate the drives individually or can you just shrink the partition to the known max capacity of one of the drives and it auto moves them to that drive? fingers crossed for the latter 🤞🤞🤞

I'm looking to combine 3 hard drives together into one. But one of the hard drives is my main C drive with my OS on it. Can I combine it with the others without losing the information? My main drive has only 7% free space and wanted to expand it to the other drives without losing all that data.

Do all all drives have to be unallocated in order to combine them? I have 4 hd in a docking bay and tried combining them, and in dismgnt all actions were grayed out.

Hi I need help I have 3 hard drives but 2 of them are SSD and one is HDD the 2 SSD were connected and made in to 1 SSD to work as the bootable hard drive thats where I have windows 7. When that was done A Image of GHO was created so that I wouldn't need to install the windows 7 gain from 0. I could use the copy of when every thing was done and just use the copy but the problem is that I don't know how to do it I want to find out but no matter what I do can't find the answer . Do I need second USB drive to install like windows or can I do it from the computer and if so what I need to do like do I need to go to mini windows 7 or something close to that or just need help.

I always do a 80GB/???GB or 100GB/???GB depending on the total space... I install the OS and programs on the 80 or 100 GB and then move my User Folder to the ???GB drive... This will help me auto backup my files (such as desktop, videos, music, pictures, documents) and won't need to manually back them up when I reformatted or re-image my PC - Less work

100th is it possible to do the same on a Apple computer well if it is hears my tutorial. Go to Finder then click on paragon and then go to Hard Drive Management then right click on any one of the Hard Drives and then click on extend volume then click next to the paragon and then just at the second Hard Drive the just click add and then the volume would be much bigger than normal which is a good thing and then click on next and finish the paragon and after that you would have a bigger hard drive much bigger

It is good information but I wonder if there is a quicker to combine the contents of two different drives onto a single 2 TB drive, thus eliminating the other two drives? We can simply copy the contents over, but it's very time consuming and sometimes there are duplicate files to contend with. Any faster solution?
