I really love these videos and really like the style of team recap here! I think the only thing I would ask for is the typing on the recap cause I kept forgetting what they were while Shady and Luke talked through their thinking!

The problem with getting too cute with the rules is that both players end up playing with different rules. Just look at the typings and how that was done differently between the two.

I have a fun idea for a challenge. Could y’all please catch eight Pokemon of your choice that all have random abilities. Both of you also get to pick out the move sets after catching the Pokemon. Once you both acquire teams, read off each of your team members’ Pokedex entries. If the one being read to correctly identifies a Pokemon entry, he gets the option to force a trade without knowing the moveset of the identified Pokemon. The player who gets the identity correct is also able to pick out a custom ability for the traded Pokemon. Sabotaging some of your own team members is legal. Let’s say that the two leftover Pokemon with easy Pokédex entries are physical attackers like Machamp. You can rigg the entire moveset to be special or support moves. The Pokemon can’t be pseudo legends, legends, paradox, ultra beast, mythical or, starters to make it a bit more challenging.

I would love to see a version of this where you do a blind combination but your opponent can ban using one Pokemon a certain way. For example, your opponent sees a Blaziken with Speed Boost on the left and bans the ability on the left, so you're forced to use the moves or the body of a Blaziken instead.

This is always an awesome then we fight concept to combine stats. I also enjoy the Battleship like team builds, but what about kinda mixing the 2 ideas? What if you guys filled boxes with different stat categories like one box filled with special attackers and another filled with big ole tanky bois, etc? Maybe 6 specific categories of stat distribution or just each box has that stat's highest mons in general but still chosen at random and maybe only 1 pick per box per person? If there's enough boxes you could even pick 3 random Battleship shots and build mons similarly to how this video build setup works.
