Yes as a 72-year-old little kid I used to love going to farm shows

Who could look at you two and not smile? I care nothing about farming (but I am appreciative for those who do, cause I do like to eat) but I love watching this channel!!!

Tech shows are fun. I'm a retired video editor and the TV/Film industry has the same sort of shows. Most of the kit is much smaller, but there are some very big camera cranes used by the film industry. I used to get hired to demo things like editing kit, and they would build me a completed editing bay with a bank of monitors, and back in the day a lot of reel-to-reel and cartridge tape decks. During the 80s and 90s I was at at least two shows every year. Although I was based in London, I worked all over Europe, and occasionally in the US. For about 10 years I would attend the NAB show in Las Vegas. Back in the day, Sony and Ampex would have the biggest booths, with a complete TV studio and editing bays. In 1990 the show moved to Atlanta for one year while they extended the exhibition space in Las Vegas because we had outgrown it! I know what you mean about the walking. As a demo person, I would be stuck on the booth, and had to sneak off for an hour at a time go see other stuff. Usually it was as far away is it could be. I had to wear a suit mostly, but comfortable shoes were a must. I found your channel by accident, but it is fun watching how a modern farm works. A long time ago I worked on a show for the UK Channel 4 about the history of agriculture, and we spent a couple of days on a wheat farm. I got to travel on a combine, crammed into the back of the cab with a portable video recorder, while the camera man was outside with a safety harness clipped to one of the walk-around rails. Analogue TV! Things have come a long way, with all the automation, GPS and such.

I'm not a farmer but I find farming to be very interesting and farmers to be some of the best people. I love going to farm shows. For several years they held the Mid Atlantic Farm Show in Wilson, NC where I live. It was nowhere as big as the show in your video but it was so much fun. To give you an idea how long ago that was Jerry Clower (Google him if you haven't heard of him, he was funny) performed there one year. That show eventually moved to another location.

Wow, Laura! Looking gorgeous! Love all kinds of machinery shows. Used to really have fun as a kid climbing on tractors at the fair.

I and a friend toured the Fendt AGCO Jackson Mn plant. Very interesting and you would not believe how clean the plant was and all of the testing as the are manufactured. Also toured the sprayer plant there.

If you love farm shows, you need to come and experience the Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg. This January you can be part of the largest indoor agricultural show in north America!

I'm not sure which I like more Grant and Laura farming or taking us through a farm show. Laura's obvious joy at either always comes through loud and clear. To bad farming didn't pay enough to get new equipment on a regular basis and not have tofret about what to get when. This is my number one farm show.

Hey! There was nothing wrong with hearing Cale and Grant going back and forth in discussion? I liked that! Even though Laura did not, LOL! The JCB skid steer that Cole the Cornstar just bought is the best, no death trap front door on it (won't trap you inside if something falls off the bucket onto the cab) and it has way more power than the JD. We just bought one at work and it's the best skid steer evah!

I still think that next year you should come to the farm show in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. It covers 6 large buildings plus a lot of stuff outdoors and is advertised as being the biggest in North America. That green grain hauler was there this year.

If you like agricultural shows try and get a manufacturer to take you both over to Agritechnica in Germany (the end of February) its absolutely massive and well worth it. I go from the UK and it dwarfs anything we have here. Last time I went I met some US farmers who were there with Class.

I ran the Takeuchi tl8 last weekend. You can open the door no matter where the boom is up or down. It had heat and ac and stereo. It was primo. The Deeres boom has to be all the way down or all the way up to open door. But I’m a Deere guy. So……

In the late 90's equipment manufactures were testing tracks to prevent slippage which led into soil compaction, much the same as the theories behind extra under carriage on the 747 to prevent tarmac destruction. End of the day you could save between 10-30% on operating costs during land prep. Surprisingly, it hasn't really taken off especially with low tire pressure destroying maintenance budgets?

I would say tracks are better than tires because they have a larger surface area and therefore lighter footprint on the soil

Skidsteers are great and very useful. I wouldn't waste my time with tired skidsteer - get the track system ... there are tons of attachments for them, DO IT !

Enjoyed this! I may have to start going to farm shows. I guess my John Deere lawn tractor sort of qualifies. Also one can't have too many Milwaukee tools. It looks like dad went back to school with his backpack.

That was fun, thanks. . Chicago has a giant machine tool show that's also a lot of fun. They have quite a few machine tools set up and running. The crank grinders were my favorite. A crankshaft that's spinning fast and flying all over the place with sparks flying while it grinds the connecting rod journals. It amazed me that with all that chaos the grinder could hold tolerances of a ten-thousandth of an inch.

In the 90s i was working for ford credit doing inventory on ag and construction dealers. Was in Rapid City SD on farm show weekend...driving back every dealer asked if I was the Holiday Inn the night before. Yes......Someone got a key to a hotel room claiming the boss was coming in and would pay for the room. Ok, no problem. They cleaned out the wet bar. Then, downstairs to the restaraunt and bought everyone's meals with the room key. Moved in the bar and ran up a huge tab. Everyone's best friend...they split before the cops came... All the way to the Minnesota border all I got was "Did you hear about yourself on the radio?" "Were you there?". " Did you see them? "Was that you running up the tab?". I had the greatest time and was not responsible for any of it. For once....I went to the Houston livestock show. Same kind of fun. Fun follows me to farm show. I'm hoping for Denver stock show in January. Can't wait
