That's a pretty cool video Dave, I've never seen a PTO setup like that one before, and I didn't know that New Idea made grain augers, you learn something new every day! Thanks Dave 👍🚜
@@crazydave4455 I like it!! Way better than trying to cram a tractor in the other way in a tight spot like we have. I also like the augers people have mounted on tractors..
White's .. I remember the day gramps bought his last new tractor 2-155 like it was yesterday. I put a lot of hours on her chisel plowing and occasional malboard plowing. New Sub :)
Love watching your 4400 work and the Oliver collection is sweet. Just found you and subscribed. I’m down to my last Oliver, a 1755 that’s still a workhorse for us. Also have a 4400 which can be seen in oats from last year on our YT channel. Take a look when you get time. When/where is the next plow day?
Thanks. They plow day usually gets planned mid summer, when someone volunteers a field or two. Almost always in Wright County. Come see the club at the Wright County Fair (tent setup on the west side of the grounds) Or email me (about tab) in July and we should have some idea by then. I’ll check your channel out later tonight 👍
@@TheGrumpyFarmer Pretty much done already, beans are a hired out job. Right off the field to a truck and gone. Clean up continues… Hope dad enjoys the free time, he’s been taking care of animals since he was a kid. Thanks Andy.
Old school batch dryer. Most now have much more capacity and run on 3 phase power. Basically blows a big fire ball into the inner screen and the tractor powers an auger that keeps the corn moving to heat and dry it until the moisture level is suitable for storage.
I really like the video, im still sad it's the last harvest though! Do you plan on keeping some or all of your equipment? And it's awesome to see the R getting a workout.
The long time family tractors will be kept, (green ones) along with the hay equipment. Dad plans on doing some offsite hay making still for some hay customers. Thanks MD
@@rswany16 it’s funny, I never set out to have a channel, certainly never thought it could hit 1000 subs. I’ll probably continue on with some ag related videos. Farm visits, shows, projects, collections. If people stick around I’ll do it as long as it’s fun.
Could dry a batch in 2 hours in this warm weather. Yeah, been busy out there the last few weeks. Moving stuff, hauling scrap etc. They have been waiting a long time for that piece. Roads leading into it for years. Glad grandpa doesn’t have to see it. I’m overdue for some RU-vid watching… Thanks Shane.
Felt lost when my wife's dad retired in 2001. Loved doing farm work with him. He had a couple of 2-105's. I loved working those tractors. Your dad gonna keep at least one cab tractor?
Don’t plan on it, room is an issue and don’t really have a use for them. The Oliver’s have a longer family history, can be more easily transported to shows and club events. The larger Whites not so much. Unfortunately you can’t keep them all. The 2-135 has been there since 83.
Is your family selling the farm or just retiring? I could still see planting a few acres and running that older equipment as kind of a seasonal tourist thing. I have thought about a corn maze and maybe a pumpkin patch myself.
I pretty much cover it in this video Russ. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-s56EVlJsM8o.html There is multiple layers working against its survival….
